Default PCOS and Low Estrogen?

Hello All, I am new to this board, but have frequented the twoweekwait.com board for a while (DH and I are ttc). My question is this:

My Naturopathic Doctor got some lab results back on me and she said that I actually have low estrogens. I thought it was weird because I have had other PCOS symptoms (irregular periods, excess hair growth, male-pattern thinning, obesity mainly in the stomach, skin tags, high androgens, etc). But, I thought that PCOS was accompanied by high estrogens, so I was kind of confused when I heard that. Has anyone else had this?

Btw, I have never been diagnosed with cysts, just all the other factors. Please let me know what you think. Thank you very much in advance!!

Initially I was tested and found that I have elevated DHEA and androgens, low progesterone but estrogen in normal level.

Some women have PCOS and low estrogens, some have elevated. If a person has been on the BCP, it can throw things off too. I'd be interested in hearing what people say on this.

The thing with PCOS is that it is a syndrome, so a person can have any or all of the symptoms. Thats often why diagnosis is so difficult.

Best,
Cassy

hmm..I have always heard that women with PCOS tend to have high to normal levels of estrogen..but not low. But, now I am thinking (unusual I know)...

I am not getting AF at all..and when I did the Provera, it eventually worked..but it took some time..and my doctor said I may not be getting AF because my lining is not thick enough to shed. So..I wonder if maybe I have low estrogen levels. Last time I got my blood tested..I don't think they tested my estrogen levels. I've been thinking about calling the doc. anyway...maybe it's time.
