I would definitely buy something like this. All the ideas I have read pretty much covered what I would have suggested.
Please let me know how to get a copy when you are ready for your first issue to mail out.
Thanks for thinking of this, I think it is great!!

I think this is such a good idea! Even women without PCOS could benefit from this magazine, as we can have information on low-carb diets - which helps with Insulin Resistance. Also, infertility information for women who are trying to get pregnant. And anything that gets women to persevere with their health in regards to the medical industry is a good thing. Too many women are told "it's in your head" or "lose weight" when they have a real problem. Hope my 2 cents helps. Let me know about the mag. I would subscribe.
Take care all
Stacy
This is a great idea! I hope it works out for the best, and please let us know about it because i will be one of the top subscribers!!!
I think that a personal story from a PCOS cyster every month would be a good idea too.. Something to give us some inspiration.
For example, one article could consist of a woman battling PCOS while TTC - and how she FINALLY got her miracle baby(or babies).
A woman whose symptoms were out of control and through diet, excersize, low carb, meds, etc etc she was able to control PCOS...
Stuff to this nature I personally look for because it gives me the added inspiration that i need when I get into the "all hope is lost" mood.
Also, nobody mentioned depression *i dont think* so that would be another topic that is good too. I just recently learned last year that depression was another symptom of PCOS.
Maybe even a section where you get the Husbands perspective of having a wife that is battling PCOS and HIS thoughts on how he is dealing with it...
Of course questions and answers sections is always helpful.
Ok, I will shut up now LOL

I also just found out this year, though this site thta depression and anxiety is a symptom of PCOS. I just thought that I was losing my mind...along with the doctors that I was seeing. One of them when I said that I thought that it might have to do with my recient weight gain that I just had issuses with my weight and that was part of my problem! I feel so much better knowing that I'm not crazy (well okay I am...but you know what I mean! LOL). I think this could help alot of women!

Hello ladies...thank you for your continued suggestions. They are great.
I just wanted to let you know that I am making slow but steady progress on this idea. I will soon have a Web site up that will provide basic information about proposed content, and an opportunity to subscribe. You should be able to access it (by the end of the first week in May) at www.pcostoday.net/index.html. I'll let you know if things change.
This whole thing would've probably gone a lot faster if it weren't for the fact that for the past two weekends I was either out of town playing with my other fellow journalists at a statewide convention, or moving into a house. Such fun. Anyways, keep your eyes peeled!!!
I agree - an awesome idea! And I would LOVE to help you out in any way I can! I don't have a degree or anything, but am computer saavy, and have done a few articles & layouts in my lifetime! If you need help w/anything: vbaker5@cinci.rr.com
What a fabulous idea. I am going to subscribe tomorrow! I am so excited. I have a personal website and I have a section on there that lists all my favorite links. My hisband made it and maintains it. Would you mind if I put a link to your website from mine. I would also love to help you get the word out via another listserve I belong to for PCOS. I will list it there soon if it is OK with you.
I think that you have begun an awesome project and I thank you for your efforts as I am sure we all agree, it is great new resource for all of us!
Have a beautiful day!

Thank you so very much! Yes, I'd be honored if you'd link to my site, and if you'd spread the word via the listserv, that would be great too! You will literally be my first subscriber.
You are my hero! I love you! What a wonderful idea to have a newsletter or magazine for us sufferers. Please keep us posted on your progress. I for one will make sure that my doctor sees it!
I loved all the ideas that the ladies came up with. It sounds to me like you have a major magazine in the works from all the ideas!

How do we subscribe? Let me know...I will pass the word around. I have to go back to my OB (who is treating me for this) sometime this month (can't remember when) and I will tell her about it to pass the word on to her patients.
And, Thank YOU, Linda! You're trying to help us! God bless you!

I would definitely subscribe!! I have tried the link to the site a few times but it never works. Is it up yet? Has the newsletter/mag started yet? I want to subscribe! Please let me know how to go about doing so. Thank you! GREAT IDEA...LOVE IT!!
I've been battling PCOS since I was 15, at that time I was told that I could never have children, although since it was 18 years ago, and a small town, the doctors didn't have a name for what was wrong. At 20 years old I had my first surgery to remove cysts that had grown too large, and had to be surgically removed, and was at that time told what I had been battling since I was 15. I was put on Zoloft at that time, and 8 years later am still on it.
When I moved to another state, I found a doctor who realized that, lo and behold, I really needed to be on Birth Control Pills to help straighten out my cycles, along with straightening out my cycles, it also allowed me to get pregnant (although I wasn't trying at the time, I wouldn't trade him for the world.)
I was just recently put on Glucophage, and will begin Birth Control Pills again next month (I have to wait for the Depo Provera to wear off.) My advice, don't EVER go on Depo Provera, it has made EVERYTHING worse. Even my IBS is acting up more now, because of the stress of everything else due to my being on the Depo.
Okay, I guess that is enough for now, please feel free to e-mail me: adrriley@yahoo.com.
Thanks,
