Unhappy PCOS may not be, everyone read this!

I went to see an endocrinologist yesteday and he thinks that I may not have PCOS there is a syndrome/disease that is much like PCOS that many people think they have PCOS. This is called Cushing's Syndrome. It is very serious and can cause many problems. I am being tested for it right now, the main problem with this syndrome is that I may have a tumor on my putitary gland and well for those of you who don't know that is my brain! Its so important for anyone with PCOS make sure that you are tested for this syndrome. I am so happy with the endocrinologist he is really on top of things and seems to be the best doctor for me. The other thing is that with some of the med's i was taking if I would have gotten preg. then my baby could have been deformed. I am now on birth controll to prevent this. this doctor knows his stuff! good luck to everyone and please if you have any questions ask your doctor.
And anyone who has this let me know becasue I am a little scared. Thanks. Best wishes to all and remember God dosn't give us more than we can't handle!

I am so glad you got an answer. I don't have it but I wanted to know that you are in my prayers and I want you to let me know how you are making out.

We will get through this!

Thumbs down GOOD DOCTORS!

As you said any good doctor would have tested but I guess mind didnt decide to be a good doctor that day. Plus she gave me meds that can make me have deformed babies. I would be so happy to be preg. but I don't want a deformed baby because my DR doesnt know what she is doing.
The DR I saw yested day is good. You know he did a sonogram on me for free because he wanted to see for himself what was going on. I had a sonogram done in December but this Dr wanted to see for himself. I am so happy with him.
Thank all of you for your thougts and prayers its nice to be able to have a support group who know's what I"m going through. As I said before I would not wish this on my worst enemy. Good luck to all of you!
Casey

PS. Anything else I should know e-mail me I am open to all sorts of sugestions. I am new to diabetes too so any tips on eating right and everything to do with it. Thanks ladies keep strong.

casey, don't be nervous. My Endo thought I might have a tumor on my pituitary gland also. She never told me it was called Cushings. Scared the heck out of me. By blood tests she said no,
I didn't have it I was perimenopausal. Made me crazy!

Also, seems like you changed docs. How did you do it? I want to change my doc also. I am not comfortable with her. I don't think she knows enough about PCO. I have to retreive my records from her and I feel uncomfortable calling her office. I don't know what to say.

I will keep you in my prayers. I know how frightening it can be.

GOOD NEWS!

My doctors office just called me, the nurse said my test for Cushing's Syndrome has come back as normal. She told me that because of stress it can cause for the test to come out normal but that they would like to see my results be a little lower. The doctor is requesting that I come back in 1 month for another test but everything looked good for now. I will continue on my track to get better from all of the side affects of PCOS. Happy Valentines Day to me I could not ask for anything more than such good news. Roses don't compare! I kept my faith and God protected. It was a long weekend of concern but I am going to be alright! Plus I will hopefully be able to sleep tonight. Thank you to everyone who has been concerned!
