There is a show that comes on the BBCA (England) channel on cable and the name of it is "You Are What You Eat" there is a lady by the name of Dr Jillian McKeith, nutritionist (hope I spelled that right) that runs around Britian cleaning up all the bad eaters, as they say. The other day on the show Dr McKeith was helping a 19 yr old girl and her mother.
The 19 yr old has PCOS Dr Mckeith cleaned all the bad food out of their kitchen and put them on a detox diet of healthy fruits, veggies and lean meat n fish. I think its like a 6 week detox program. Dr. McKeith took blood and stool samples and sent them to the lab which will show any vitamins etc that the body isnt getting. The Lab Tech stated that the cause of PCOS is unknown but losing weight can help relieve the symptoms.
I wish someone had told me that at 19 - I wish that dumb doctor had told me what PCOS was and not just give me some birth control pills and not tell me why.
Both the mother and daughter did lose weight on this program and the 19 yr olds facial hair problem cleared up

That's good to know. I'm going to set my DVR for the 11am showing (at 4, I dvr Judge Judy and Judge Mathis )
Funny, I looked at the banner below this thread, and it had a book for Your Are What You Eat.
I didn't realize the doctor in the show had a book. I might have to get it. What I like about her is that she takes a true holistic approach to weight loss.
