greetings and salutations

just registered and this is my first post. got diagnosed just a couple of weeks ago after an ultrasound that had lots and lots of follicles (17-23 just on the right) and one small cyst as well as about 5ish on the left. pcos had been suspected before due to other symptoms but the endocrinologist i was seeing before just called it hypothalamic amenorrhea. ended up being my general ob/gyn that diagnosed me.

tomorrow is my follow up to see what we're doing for treatment and i know that any kind of bc pills aren't going to be an option because of my migraines that i get. after speaking with my neurologist at my appointment today he agrees it would be a bad idea. i'm just wondering about experiences other ladies have had with migraines and pcos together and how they've treated it.

i gotta say that it's been a good while (at least 6 months) that i've personally thought i had pcos but when the REs assistant told me that wasn't something they were further looking into with me i just let them drop it. i have so learned about being my own advocate.

I have migraines with auras (I think that is spelled right). I can't take BCP's which in turn means that I can't take the majority of medications that help with PCOS symptoms (due to the risk of getting preg. and the baby having deformities). I have always thought that my migraines were due to the hormone imbalance.

I get migraines all the time, twice a month, right before AF arrives and right before ovulation. I can't take more migraine meds because of my high blood pressure. I use aspirin, tylenol, caffeine and Vicks Vapor Rub under my nose!

I too get migraines and have had them horribly with any bcps I have been on (Orthotricyclene, Orthotricyclene LO, and Mircette). I also get migraines with hormonal fluctuations or stress. I got migraines also on clomid and follistim and now that I am pregnant I get them weekly or bi weekly.

I also get migraines, have for as long as I can remember. Ironically woke up with what feels like one coming on this morning **cries**

Panadeine Forte seems to be the only thing that makes even a slight dent in the pain, but mostly I just have to crawl into bed in a darkened room and pray for silence (and noise feels like a knife stabbing my head!!)

I too have always thought mine were hormonal!!
