Default PCOS and now Endo

Hello Soul Cysters,

Well, I had my second laproscopic procedure...the dr. thought I had another dermoid cyst in my OTHER ovary. The doctor suggested that I was "making up" the pain--turns out, my ovaries were connected to my uterus by way of scar tissue...he found endometriosis, and the cyst in my ovary was a functional one, filled with fluid. Still have the PCOS as well...I'm scared. I really need information from people that have both...what do the cards hold?

After I came to, I immediately began having a panic attack. It's frightening. I need support to help me get through this...I feel like I'm a woman, but one totally effed up.

Thanks.

Laura

***HUGS*** I am so sorry to hear that. Were they able to remove any of the scar tissue that connected yours O's to your U's? IMHO, I believe that the Endo and PCOS are related. I am seeing a naturopath Thursday to see what can be done to heal the whole body and get things right again. Keep an eye on my thread, maybe some useful info in there when I get back. As for the panic attacks, try to get some yoga breathing. (dont do yoga after surgery, ouch). Just deep breaths. Remember there is nothing you can do immediately, but a sort of puzzle, that we are going through with you. The body is a complex organism that has the ability to heal itself, but sometimes need a jump start. ***HUGS AGAIN*** We are here, or I am, but I am sure any of the lovely ladies in this forum would say the same. Keep us posted as well, and ask questions.

I always suggest the Endometriosis book by the Endometriosis Association. It is very good.

I find treating PCOS with diet & exercise is best for me. So far for Endometriosis birth control has not helped, but I'm currently halfway thru Lupron treatment and that has helped the most.

I'm glad you've had lap done and removed the endo that was found. Are your ovaries in OK shape?

Hi laura

I also have both and have done for about 4 yrs now, i totally understand where you are coming from and it is very upsetting i too have struggled with this as your hormones are all over the place! it took my doctors 3 yr to diagnois me with this! they treated the endo with danazol 6 month course that stops your periods all together so that it can shrink the area of the endo, it doesnt completely get rid as it can return at any time! but that was the first point of action with me and seemed to have worked, before the course i was having alot of pain and periods every 3-5 months maybe longer now i average on about every 5-6 weeks but that is down to the pcos!

Have faith there are lots of treatments out there for both and your doctor will find the one that is best suited to you! i have to live with the pcos as i am trying for a baby now and have been for a little while but recently came accross a message board about vitex and dong quai so i am now trying that, if you ever need to chat dont hesitate to contact me.

take care and keep your chin up hun x
