I've never actually been diagnosed with PCOS but I have some of the symptoms of it...I think. My periods have never been regular since I started them at 16, I have hypoglycemic symptoms pretty often, and over the last year I've started to get acne and a light "moustache." I've had all kinds of hormone tests and the results are always supposedly "normal." Although, apparently a test two years ago showed that my free testosterone was "borderline" high (3.8 or 4, I can't remember). My doctor only told me this a few months ago! A more recent test, though, showed free testosterone at 1.8. I don't remember the other testosterone levels, but I was told they were normal. I was also told an ultrasound was normal (I guess that means no cysts?)
So, why aren't my periods regular, and why do I have more acne at 22 than I did in my teens (plus the hair growth?) I wanted to figure out if I was ovulating since I read anovulation was a symptom of PCOS, so this month I've been charting my temperatures and checking for CM. The Fertility Friend website said I ovulated on CD 20, and since my temperatures have remained high for ten days, the date matches with the time I noticed watery CM, and my last few periods have mostly been around 34 days apart, I believe the website.
Can you ovulate every month and still have PCOS? I know I usually do get a single patch of fertile mucus about 2 weeks before my period each month--I've noticed it for a long time. It's just that my periods never are really regular. I got them only a few times a year until age 20, when I started getting them every two weeks for a while; then they were between 3 and 5 weeks apart, mostly. A few months ago I bled 10 days after my last period, then 15 days later again, then: 34 days, 34 days, 41 days, 34 days, and the next one will probably be about 34 days again. Maybe my cycle is getting more regular, but isn't it still too long?
If you ovulate every 5 weeks or so, is this normal--or could it still be a sign of PCOS? Just trying to figure my body out.
Not sure if you have PCOS or not, but when they did an ultrasound, what kind did they do? If they did one externally, it wouldn't show if you have cysts or not. They have to do a vaginal, internal ultrasound to see if you have cysts, which could be an indication you have PCOS. But with that said, all women with PCOS do not have cysts. Bring this up to your dr and ask for more tests if possible!

Hypoglycemia isn't a symptom of PCOS-- it's HYPERglycemia or high blood glucose. Normally, you wouldn't be hypoglycemic unless you were on diabetic drugs.
I don't really know why you think you have PCOS. Your tests and ultrasounds are normal. You ovulate every month and have a regular cycle (34 days isn't too long for a cycle). Acne is relatively common at your age... and the light moustache? Well, I don't know how you look like but it may not be that big of a deal or it could be something unrelated.
My cycle has been irregular like yours since I was a teenager. My skin was bad when I was younger, got better in my early 20's (when I conceived both of my children with no problems), and is now a wreck again. All tests had always been normal on me until this year. Over several months, my cycle got more and more irregular and, finally, stopped completely. It was only after it stopped that my ultrasound came back revealing PCOS.
I'm definitely not saying that you have PCOS, but I am saying that it is a possibility.
I started taking birth control (for cramps) when I was 17 and I only stopped when my husband and I decided to try to start a family. I did not go back on the pill after my 2nd child because I chose to chart my cycle instead. I have had problems ever since then.
I would not recommend BCP at all, in most cases including mine they just mess you up more.

Take your menstrual calendar into your doctor, along with a list of troubling symptoms, and ask him/her to explain to you in detail why you're having issues.
