PCOS, on the pill, but still paranoid, help please!
I feel a little silly asking this, but does anyone really know what percentage of women with PCOS have fertility problems? I'm on the pill as well, but still paranoid I'm going to get pregnant. I was wondering if my chances are a lot lower than most, or the same. Just thought you guys would know the most about this sort of thing! Any input would be appreciated. My endo told me that I would most likely have to use fertility drugs to get pregnant, but I'm just wondering how things actually work.....I don't want to be careless.
Thank you!
Marit

Hi there! I was told the same thing when I was dx at 15 years old. That I would probably have to take fertility drugs to get preggers. Well, I celebrated my son's first birthday yesterday, and he was conceived using nothing. We were actually surprised because we weren't trying to get me pregnant, and we thought, 'hey, i can't get pregnant either, so why pull out?' so, it is possible. It depends on the person, and the severity of it.

It depends on if you are ovulating or not. Some women still ovulate on the pill. You can always add a diaphram to the mix or learn about natural family planning so you can avoid your fertile time of month. I recommend "Taking Charge of Your Fertility"

Thanks, do you know how I could find out if I do ovulate? If I'm not on the pill I don't get periods at all. Don't know if that means I don't!
