Default PCOS question

Is it normal to have PCOS but still get very regular periods AND symptoms of ovulation every month? My doctor says there's a good chance I have PCOS but since I do get my period, I'm wondering if maybe there's a good chance I don't have it. I was diagnosed with insulin resistance last week, so that would explain why it's hard for me to lose weight and why I'm always hungry.

Anyone here have PCOS but also have a reg. period/ovulation?

I also have regular periods. They've been regular for the last 4 years but before that I'd go several months and even up to a year without one. My family dr ordered bloodwork and an ultrasound to test for PCOS way back then but everything came back normal. Then I lost about 30lbs and voila! my period came back.

I recently went to my ob/gyn because I have been using ovulation predictor kits and never got a positive test. He basically took one look at me and said I had PCOS. I was like, "but how do you know???" because he hadn't done the ultrasound or bloodwork yet and he pointed out the tell-tale signs on my body: darkened skin patches & body structure. He said I have insulin resistance and then he ordered the traditional tests. My ultrasound came back normal- I only had follicular cysts- but my insulin was sky high even though my blood sugar was normal.
