I'm new to this forum but have a question about PCOS. I'm a 25-year-old male, and my wife is 24. She has been diagnosed with moderate to severe PCOS for some years now. She had surgery to remove one of her ovaries a few years ago. She's ovulated regularly for the past eight or nine months, and we are trying to conceive. Is it possible, even with regular ovulation, that there could be a problem with the quality of the egg itself? A lot of the information on PCOS describes "kick-starting" ovulation, but there is not much info. on fertility problems with regular ovulation. I'm wondering if her ovary itself is misfiring. This is obviously information to ask the doctor, but I can't get to one right now, and thought I'd come here for some advice. Thanks so much.
It could also be that her hormones aren't high enough (I'm refering to progesterone) to support a pregnancy - meaning, maybe an egg gets fertilized, but her body doesn't realize it, or just can't support it.
Have her hormone levels been checked? Low progesterone can easily be corrected, if that is the problem. Natural Progesterone Cream can even help on its own, and is easier on the body that the artificial stuff. But some people use the artificial AND natural, that way they get the quick results of the artificial but over time don't need it any more and can just use the natural.
Otherwise, it could also be blocked tubes, if they haven't been checked.

My best advice to you would be to go dirctly to a Reproductive Endocrinologist-I wasted time going to an OB/GYN. I'm getting the best care now and they really are thorough in monitoring my cycle. All the best to you.
