Some beauties in there. Scary bunkum. At first it seems like harmless tosh - bit frightening there's people like this in the 21stC but hopefully not in Europe... I'd love to see where this bloke's 'B.Sc' comes from.... But I understand you can buy them abroad?
Get this: Quote: |
The vegetarian diet will not prevent ovarian cancer. Actually, it is the cause.
| Quote: |
Diet low in fat and high in fruits and vegetables caused an increase in the plasma levels of bad oxidized LDL cholesterol.
|
Show us the scientific evidence for that one. Quote: | The vegetarian diet is deficient in many vitamins, minerals, protein, cholesterol and essential fatty acids. This combined causes adrenal burnout. | Been veggie for 19 years. Oops still no adrenal burnout. I'd challenge any meat eater to even come close in levels of 'good' fats.
And this: Quote: | Irregular Menstruation and Amenorrhea .... Excessive exercises like jogging make the condition worse, not better as commonly claimed.
| Quote: |
Many slender women have PCOS. These slender women tend to be those who exercise excessively and control caloric intake.
| Heheh what nonsense! Talk about blame the victim. Til I was 30 and had kids, I was a UK size 8 (US 4?) and average height. I ate whatever I wanted (LOTS!) Couldn;t have told you what a calorie was, and wasn't overtly exercising. I had maybe one period per year. Quote: All carbohydrates are bad. There are no good carbohydrates. | No food group is 'evil'. Quote: |
Downs syndrome or a child who develops autism is the result of damage to the brain of the fetus in the womb. These birth defects are claimed to be genetic, but they are not.
| Ah thanks. My fault one of my sons is autistic. (Although he was normal until vaccine damaged but I must be imagining that, eh?) Obscene and offensive - blaming downs syndrome on mum's diet? Repellent man.
And 1st prize for cashing in on women's grief: Quote: Warning!
This diet program works.
Start shopping for baby furniture if you are not using birth control.
| Ah and you toil down a lengthy page and suddenly you know you're somewhere strange: Quote: |
Women typically believe Satan's lie that saturated fats are unhealthy.
| Sorry? What? Come again? Scaring me now! Is this a joke? Or are we still in the middle ages?
I'm a bit scared to even copy this as it sort of dignifies the insanity, but to save folk having to scroll through the insanity: Quote: | Women typically believe Satan's lie that red meat is unhealthy. Women typically believe Satan's lie that cholesterol is unhealthy. Women typically believe Satan's lie that the family should eat lots of fruit. Women typically believe Satan's lie that the family should eat lots of whole grains. Women typically believe Satan's lie that a high-carbohydrate diet is healthy. Women typically believe Satan's lie that a low-fat diet is healthy. Women typically believe Satan's lie that cows' milk is healthy. Women typically believe Satan's lie that cheese made from cows' milk is unhealthy. | Eek!

The majority of it seemed to help me although I prefer to give more credit to Barry Groves and his diet guidelines.
Will read and *THINK* before posting such nonsense again....lesson learned...promise!

To me a good diet has to be no white flour, almost no white sugar, no potatoes or rice, and lots of fruits, veggies, dairy, nuts and meat. Since everyone's body is different, they have to listen to their bodies and eat what works best for them. I don't think one diet would work for everyone.
And, the only detox I have ever heard that works is a fruit in the morning detox. My DH used to do this. Each morning you eat fresh fruit until about 11:30, nothing else. At noon you have a veggie heavy lunch with some meat and water to drink and supper is the same. You eat nothing after supper to give your body time to process what you ate and actualy rest during the night. DH said it worked great for him.

What worked for me was switching to a high organic, wholefood diet low fat and low GI but not totally strict- nothing processed and at least one meal a day raw. Plus lots of varied exercise - much of it, in my case, 'real' things like gardening, walking, a bit of running... I don't think women with PCOS are so vastly different to the population of non PCOS-ers - the weight just takes longer to come off, is all.
You're entitled to believe whatever you like, my reaction was informed by the fact I find that kind of thing a bit cynical and exploitative of people who are already vulnerable. A little too much blame the victim, too (not that we're victims at all but you know what I mean?) It's not my fault my child is disabled. It's not my fault I have PCOS. Only a man could write that, surely.
