 PCOS in Self magazine!
A Subscription for Self magazine appeared in my mailbox last fall and I have been enjoying it.
Anyway reading my August issue page 89 is 'Health Update'. It is a big picture of a scale and the title is "When weight gain is a warning'.
It says, "If pounds are piling on and you've rule out the usual suspects.....a health problem may be to blame.....A 5 pound gain may mean....Sleep Apnea....PCOS...A 10pound gain may mean...Cushing's Syndrome....Metabolic Syndrome...
To sum the PCOS paragrahph it lists the cause and symptoms and the excess insulin coupled with insulin resistance.
then under Metabolic Syndrome it says it is like PCOS and goes more into the problems of excess insulin and using meds like metformin.
It made my evening :-)
