Red face PCOS and sex drive?

Does anyone know if there is a link between PCOS and low (I mean LOW) sex drive? If so, has anyone heard of any effective treatments for this?
Thanks.

Around the time that I started getting PCOS symptoms my libido ran away.
I always attributed it to weight gain, tiredness etc but I had previously enjoyed an extremely high drive, so looking back it should have been more obvious to me that something was amiss.
I definately believe there is a connection.

I thought pcos caused a high sex drive from the high testosterone. Since going on the on bcp I have absolutely no interest.

I don't know if any of you take anti depressants. But some of those cause a decrease in your sex drive.

I, too, have a very low sex drive. I don't remember it ever being this low. I have spoken to my ob/gyn about this and have since changed my birth control pills from Diane to Alesse. My doctor says that birth control pills can kill a woman's sex drive and that it's a matter of trying a number of medications to find out which ones are right for you. I don't notice a difference with Alesse. I'm actually not liking this pill at all - my skin is in horrible shape and my sex drive is still very low. I'm going back to my doctor in Feb to discuss my options in terms of pills and to probe more about my low sex drive.

Red face strangely less since things were "put back right"

Before mine was treated, it would go sky high, and I would go crazy, since I am celibate for religious reasons. But after I got my blood tests normal (FSH\TH or whatever...) and look like I ovulate, I now do not get the urge very often at all.

It is awesome and a huge relief...unless I ever get married of course.

Weird huh.

Sex Drive?? You mean we are supposed to have one?

I can so relate to many on this thread, I haven't had any kind of sex drive at all for a few years now. Am really hoping that treatment will help, if not I will so be talking to my doc about this in March when I go back for a check.

same here, crazy drive then diane35 took care of that. i have high testosterone which is used to treat women with a low sex drive.
as for anyone on anti depressants, men on antidepressants tend to have problems with getting it up, so that could be a culprit for anyone being treated with this med.

Default antidepressants

I'm not sure about the link between PCOS and a low sex drive, but i can tell you since i have been on antidepressants my sex drive has definately gone down. I talked to my doctor at my last visit and told her that I was lowering my dose to half to see if it helped with the sex drive and it does seem to have helped.

Wink Sex drive.....

Okay maybe I am the werid one outta the bunch but I don't have a high testosterone level it is my estrogen that is super high ( I thought I might add that) but as for sex drive my DH (God bless him) has been there for me since day one of this journey and I think my sex drive went kuput when I found out I had PCOS and I mean it was barely there if there at all, but then one day out of the blue (after about 3 years) it decides it wants to come back, and come back it did but I think that maybe our minds are playing games with us because we gain weight and start feeling ickie about ourselves because of this god awful thing called PCOS and we subconsciencly subcomb to it by doing just what it wants us to(i.e. cry , be depressed hate our bodies..etc) and that puts the whole sex thing on hold.. So my advice is if it really is causeing a great turmoil within then try asking your Dr. if there is some way of going about trying to bring it back, but if not then try waiting it out and seeing what happens and one day it will come .... back now I am not going to say it will stay but enjoy it while you can....I know I am

My sex drive has just diminished and my husband is usually very understanding about this. I told my dr about this problem and she told me to drink a glass of wine and watch a pron movie with my husband to get me in the 'mood'. (hubby liked this idea) Apparently she didnt understand that the thought of having to acutally do the 'deed' is so dreadful. Don't get me wrong I love my husband but to have to actually do did can be very painful, uncomfortable etc. Trying to find a good dr in my area that takes my med ins. and find better advice.

I think the idea that he told you to watch that kind of movie is so tacky and unprofessional! You can only imagine wht he does in his spare time!
