Did anyone hear the 'Changing Track' on Jo Wiley's show on Radio 1 this morning? If you're not familiar with it, listeners write in with a little story about their life and a song that means something to them. Today a girl wrote in about how her periods started to go haywire, she was getting hair in all the wrong places and was gaining weight. Her confidence went out the window, she stopped going out and her friends stopped asking her. Finally she got some laser hair removal (didn't say whether it was on the NHS!) and she found a diet that suited her.
I listen to the Radio through my computer at work in an open plan office and I had to try really, really, really hard not to cry! I so knew what the girl was going through. After they played the song Jo Wiley said that there had been a big response - 'and it looked as though PCOS was far more common than people realise'. Hopefully it will have inspired more people to go the doctors and seek out information...

lol, I was hoping no-one would ask that because I can't remember! I do know it was something upbeat, I don't think I would have coped if it was something slow and depressing!
Oh I love listening to the changing tracks! I have thought about writing in myself about PCOS, wouldnt be too sure which song I would choose. im so bummed I missed it! I will try and find out what song it was
