After searching the internet for hours I was unable to find anything regarding the types of symptoms PCOS'ers are experiencing during pregnancy so I thought I would start a thread and ask those of us who are experiencing it first hand. So, are you guys seeing an improvement in sysmptoms or a worsening of symptoms? Are you seeing increased head hair growth or are you loosing more hair? What about skin, weight, acne, etc.

At first I felt like I was losing a lot of hair but now my hair is so thick but I think that's typical in pregnancy anyway. I lost 30 lbs during this pregnancy. Over the past 3 wks I've started to gain some of it back but I'm still down 25 lbs or so. I have had breakouts on my face but I think again that's typical of any pregnancy. Other than that it's been awesome.

Unfortunately my pcos symptoms have gotten worse- hair loss and more acne. My doc says pregnancy can sycronize your hair follicles(hair loss and growth cycles) so it seems like its all coming out at once. I'm not bald or anythign but my hair is a LOT thinner.

I have noticed my symptoms have worsened. I have started growing a beard, lol. Thank God I am blonde! My hair was falling out like crazy, so i got it cut so it could catch up with the regrowth. It was gross having to clean out my brush everyday. I have acne really bad (which is probably pregnancy related and not pcos) and i am growing a lot of skin tags. Its different for everyone.

Thanks guys! It helps to know what is expected down the line somewhere. I have been on Yasmin for years and it has slowed my hairloss and I have clear skin but I knew when I stopped taking it a week ago that the hair loss and acne would come back. I at least thought that pregnancy would prolong the benefits that I got from Yasmin but it seems that in most, PCOS symptoms tend to worsen.

I would say that my symptoms have gotten better. After I stopped the BCP in Dec. 2007, within a few months I had TONS of hair falling out and I sprouted a new patch of hairs on my chin (after all the money I spent on laser!). After being about 8 weeks pg my has loss has slowed and it's about the same as when I was on the pill. The facial hair growth has also slowed. I'm having some acne and skin problems but I think that's pretty normal.

my hair is fuller, but unfortunately the hair growth on my chin is worse To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. feels like the hair on my legs grows quicker too. it's nice to have thicker head hair though - i'm really enjoying it.

From the time I got my BFP @ 5 weeks until about 11 weeks, Inoticed I barely had to shave my legs and underarms in comparison to before pg (like everyday). However in last few days that seems to have ret'd to what is was like before PG!
The hair on my head is incredibly healthy and easier to style but I have not noticed increase or decrase in head hair!
My skin wasn't too bad before PG - only minor breakouts sometimes before AF (if she came) and now that I am Pg, it's about the same - seem to have a minor pimple here and there.
So, for the most part, no changes in hair or skin, other than a few weeks without having to shave so often ~~~ wish it would have stayed like that!! LOL

Reason: spelling
My facial hair thus far has remained the same for the most part. I find myself going every other day though to take care of it. I don't think it's because of slower growth just lack of time and it's not incredibly bad. I always have an increase in acne when I'm pregnant. It's hormonal for me. Ugh..my symptoms are just getting worse and worse! I am to the point where I am so frustrated I posted about STARTING Metformin while pregnant. I obviously can't take the pill, like I did before I got pregnant LOL
My "patch" needs to be done away with way more often and I have to shave my legs more often too. As for the oily skin and the acne..don't even get me started. I know it wasn't this bad when I had my last 2 kids before my DX.

Some people are like slinkies, not much use, but fun to push down the stairs...I would like to change that to some doctors...
