Hi I'm New here.
Im 25 years old. 5'1 158 lbs. overweight for my height. High triglyceride. I have facial hair and little acne. I hate the Facial hair. Some months I have irregular periods and some months they are regular.

Four years ago, I told my Dr. about the irregular periods. Did some blood test and they came out normal. So she put me on the bc pills to regulate my period. The BC pills did not work and I was getting a lot of acne. I told her about the acne, not even as a teen I would get that much acne, so she told me to stop taking them. I never went back.

On Dec. 2008 I went to the Dr.(different one) told her my story and asked about PCOS. She told me to get an ultrasound and some blood test.

Ultrasound was normal no string-of-pearls in my ovaries. Blood test was also normal. so why do I have some PCOS symptoms?
Any guidence will be appreciated.

I am a newbie here and may be wrong. From seeing your blood result your LH:FSH seems to be more than 6 (6:1) which may be an indication of PCOS. I think more experienced people would correct me if i am wrong.

I also have some symptoms of PCOS like facial hair, overweight by 30 pounds ,skin tags, not losing weight , abdominal fat and slightly elevated fasting blood sugar but have regular periods - clockwork cycle every 28 days and ovulate in all the cycles. I went in for my bloodwork too and just got the result LH - 6.1 and FSH - 5.2 (approximately 1:1) and no cyst in the ovary with ultrasound. I am not sure if i have PCOS or not.

My OB still put me on metformin for the elevated blood sugar as I have started TTC #2 from Jan and had a chemical pregnancy in Jan.

I'm kind of in the same boat as the both of u...I used to be really regular then in the last year or so I was quite irregular and now I haven't had a period since december 19th. I got back my lab results and they show an FSH of 6.46 mIU/ml and LH of 7.27 mIU/ml I don't know if that's normal or not but I do agree that you LH:FSH ratio is a high based on what I've read today alone...an optimal ratio is one that's approximately 1:1.
