PCOS Tattoo

Im thinking of getting a tattoo regarding PCOS to be like a constant reminder that its part of who I am to help me accept it. I think tattoos should be symbolic, rather than 'straight to the point' so Im looking for a symbol or something like that rather than a picture of a cyst or just PCOS on me.

Any suggestions?

hmmm I was thinking of doing this too...I came up with:
The date I was diagnosed, the numbers on my first bloodwork print out that I have been thinking to arrange in a funky way... incorporating the teal ribbon somehow but it would have to be more than the ribbon...a teal flower with four petals each petal being a letter for pcos...those were just a few I thought of.

I was thinking something to do with the teal ribbon... but its not necessarily just for PCOS awareness.

What about location?
I think it'd look great on my wrist, but I'm kinda too chicken to flaunt that to the world.

WOW! I loved the "Fight PCOS" tattoo. Maybe if my back and waist looked that good, I wold get that, LOL!

Oooo, I love the ovary idea. I think I'll get the teal ribbon there. Only promlem is Im not exactly sure where ovaries are (embarassing to admit) on the outside of my body.

Should be near center of your bikini line...situated on top or just slightly to the sides of your
uterus....don't be embarrassed. Embarrassing would be getting it and not checking and THEN finding out it was on the wrong spot. Haha...happy inking

Haha thats a bit more help, but I need more direction, using landmarks, like my belly button and where my pelvic bone sticks out.

put your hand on your belly button slide down til you hit the top of your bikini area(where the hair starts)...that is the top of your uterus and your ovaries are there.

The doc could be clear on the exact location...ya know a millimeter this way or that way, but that is the area

I was thinking of getting some more tattoos and now that you brought it up I might get one for PCOS. The thing is you do not have to show people that you have it.

That is exactly right. I have a tat or two that only my hunny has seen. They don't have to be for the world. They can be just for you...a reminder of something or a representation of it.

I'm planning a HUGE one soon but it isn't going to be in an area that people frequently see...it's for me really.

I see tats as more than fads not that I don't think the occasional butterfly or lady bug isn't cute, but they should be more than that and personal.

It's going to be with you forever it might as well mean something deep and wonderful...

That's just me though.

I am the same way not that many people know that I have tats on my back. And if I want people to see them then I let them. Yes, you want to get awareness out about PCOS but its a personal matter and you do not have to share it with others. Same with tattoos if you want people to know you have them then you mention them or show them off. Im on a mission now to plan my next few tats and a PCOS one will be in the works. Just need to think of were I want it located but that will be done in time.

I saw the "Fight PCOS" tat and I like that but I want to incorporate something else to go with it. Most likely something that is teal.
