My doctor always tells me if I miss a pill not to take two the next day just take your medicine as you normally would. Some medicines can be very dangerous if you take more than prescribed.
I think it will depend on what your metformin dosage is, if I were to take too much I think it would probably mess up my digestive track. You should call the doctor's office and speak with a nurse and tell him or her what you did and he or she will be able to tell you what to do.
