PCOS with Total Hysterectomy

I was diagnosed with PCOS 5 years ago. Since being diagnosed I had to under go a complete hysterectomy. Can you still have PCOS without ovaries? I know it's an endocrine disorder but shouldn't the symptoms subside once the ovaries are removed?
