Default PCOS vs. PCOD

Hello,

My Dr. recently put "PCOD" on my chart. I have always heard of it referred to as PCOS. I'm assuming the "D" stand for disease.

What is the difference? Assuming, that is, there is a difference.

I was told that the "D" stands for "disorder" , which they told me means the same thing as "S" for "syndrome".

Thats all I know. Hope it helps.

My doctor when I was diagnosed, told me that "disease" sounded to bad, so they changed it to "syndrome" I just tell everyone that I have a disease that I was born with, and leave it at that. It gives me enough trouble as if it was a disease.
