Hello!
I was diagnosed w/ PCOS back in July. When I was younger, I never had any symptoms of PCOS, and was able to get pregnant very easily. When I was 30 I had my tubes tied, and about a year later is when I first noticed some of the typical PCOS symptoms, it wasn't until I was 32 that I was diagnosed. I did not have an insulin test, was diagnosed because of my hormone levels, although after being on Met my cycle has been regulated.
My new husband and I are talking about me getting my tubal reversed, however I have been very concerned about how PCOS will effect my chances of having another baby. I mentioned it to the nurse at the Chapel Hill clinic (where I want to go for the reversal) and she told me that it is likely that after the reversal my symptoms will resolve themselves.
I started looking online, and found something called post tubal ligation syndrome (PTLS)
http://www.tubal.org/symptoms_of_pts.htm The symptoms are shocking similiar! Is it possible that I could have PTLS and not PCOS? Could one have caused the other? Does anyone know if there is a way to determine which I have? I do plan on discussing it with my PCP (my endo. just moved to another practice about 50 miles away), but wanted to see if anyone here had a similiar experience, or information.
Sorry this is so long! I just had a lot to get out!
Thanks!
Michelle
