I was just wondering if you could provide me with a link to the IR book so I could order it. I am reading a lot about how everyone is being successful with it. I have just been diagnosed with PCOS. I start curves today too. You have been very successful... Any info. or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tara

I just bought the IR diet book. I'm a little confused about a couple of things. For instance I have chicken salad and shrimp salad in my fridge right now. I couldnt find these listed in the book. I used low fat may with it and lots of veggies, would a half cup of either of these with 2 pieces of whole grain bread be balanced? Just trying to figure this thing out. Thanks so much. |

I have not yet been diagnosed with PCOS but I seem to have all the symtoms. Unexplained weight gain, hair growing where it shouldn't, always tired, chronic pelvic pain on my left bodom (where I had an ultrasound for yesturday but no cyst or anything to my surprise), mild acne, no menstrual cycle for about 2 years (where from 1 1/2 year had IUD)e etc. The thing that has been bothering me the most is the weight. I am 21 and have gained about 20 - 25 pounds in the last 2 years wich I can not explain! I exercise, run, eat a healthy diet but nothing is helping! I was getting so frustrated untill I found out about this syndrome. I am hoping to get bloodtest done this week to see if I have it. I almost hope that I do then I can finally explain why this is happening to me. What my question really is to you lady's is, Are there any medications that will help me lose my weight again together with healthy diet and exercise? (wich I already do) I was wondering if any one else had any succes story's and what medication they have been using. Please help me, I feel so bad about myself and feel like I can't do anything about it. I have been reading the story's above and they have been helping me alot and make me feel better already! I was reading about the metformin. Is this onoly to lose weight? Is this also going to help me get my cycle back and hormones abck to normal? Please help and reply to me! Would really appreciate it!
Thanks |

I stopped having periods and was diagnosed with PCOS I was determined not to get down about it. I decided the best thing I can do to help myself is to lose weight and thats what I am doing. Ive got another 6 stone to lose but my periods have already started again! yipeee! (I never thought id be so happy to see it!). its not the cheapest of options and I only recommend the online version if you can log on everyday to complete your tracker : )

1. Where are the details for an IR diet?
2. Are fruits supposed to be "full of sugar" - I am a bit of a fruitarian !
Thanks |

I started July 2005. Took a time off here and there. But maintained. I lost 27 lbs. (Ok, 37 but vacation did me in, back on track now) by a low calorie portion control diet. Also biking several times a week in front of the television. Better to exercise than just sit in a chair and be glued to the TV.
I started up Atkins today and feel pretty good. I needed to lower my carbs and atkins is a good way to get it under control.
It's nice to read all the great success stories. I never thought I would get this far. YAY!!
Good day!

It is considered average to lose 1-2 lbs per week so you are above average! The good thing about losing it at that rate is it is much easier to maintain as you are switching to a healthy lifestyle rather than a crash diet. Keep it up! |
