Thumbs up Soooooooo Inspirining

The weight loss post are really inspiring. I was diagnosoed with pcos over 10 years ago. I was always told so little about my condition, i thought it wasnt a real problem until now. I have been forced to face the harsh realities of what pcos can do to you, its like a slow moving train wreck. I'm 32 and i weigh 271 pounds, i was 278....I LOST 7 whole pounds...lol. i tried low carbing and excercise 3 days a week 45 minutes a day. This weekend was really stressful and it sent me flying right back in the wrong direction. I've learned, the only way i can deal with pcos, is accepting my mistakes. When i mess up on Monday morning, i still try to eat right Monday night. Its been extremely hard for me physically and emotionally, however, this forum keeps me hopeful. Good luck to all of you.

I wasn't overweight when I was diagnosed, but I had the worst IR belly EVER!!! I was ALL belly (and a little chin). Anyway, in the first two weeks of the IR Diet, I lost 10 pounds and in the two weeks since then I have lost 4 more. I am only one pound away from my goal weight of 125!

I was diagnosed with PCOS two yrs ago. Before that I had weighed between 90-100lbs at 5’4” tall. I was involved in a lot of sports and just thought my metabolism was high and I wasn’t putting on weight. Suddenly I had put on 30lbs in a yr but since I was still at a healthy BMI didn’t think this was an issue until I started getting severe lower back pain. Everyone thought it was because of my weight. Eventually the pain became so bad I could barely walk two feet and this was when I was hunched over. I was 24yrs old and felt like 90. Eventually after many tests I was diagnosed with PCOS and scheduled to have surgery. Pre and post surgery I was given medication with steroids since they were the only ones that worked after trying everything else. So in three months on steroids I put on 50+lbs and now weighed 182lbs. I learned a lot of things being that heavy. People can be absolutely mean and think it’s their civic duty to tell you you’re fat. Gee like I don’t own a mirror? After taking this first pic in August 2007 I was determined to weigh less by Aug 2008 and after counting cals and exercising I’m now fluctuate between 132-139lbs. I’m not only proud that I have lost so much weight, I’m proud of the things I can do now. When I was into track and field I was a sprinter 100m & 200m but I couldn’t run any kind of distance whatsoever. Now I’m running 3-5 miles easily and I’m going for my first marathon something I always wanted to do but never thought I’d ever build up the stamina for it. And in spite of what my doc says about me not really dieting these pics do not lie.

Before - 182lbs Aug 2007

After - 139lbs Jul 2008

Ladies I need some inspiration. In January I went on WW and lost 15 lbs and it looked like I lost a ton. I have curvy build and am 5'5 and at the time weighed 174 but went down to 161. Then in late Feb I had surgery to remove stage 4 endo and got put on actos, flutamide, and femara - the weight gain culprit.

Since then I have gained it all back and I just started on WW again and when I weighed myself it said 178. My size 12 fit snug and my weight goes back and forth between 170 and 176 I have to take a water pill doc gave me to help with all this water weight gain.

I feel so tired and have lost all motivation. I was doing so well before my surgery. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1996 and its been a losing battle ever since.

The nice thing is ppl always guess I weigh around 150 thank the lord.

WW does work! If you follow the plan to a "T". I have a coworker that lost 48lbs in one year. She looks great too! And it worked for me when I was doing it.

WW didn't work for me and I stuck to the points allowance religiously.

But there are a lot of PCOSers who have had really good results with it. If you do a search on WW you will find some buddy threads and you can pop in and take a look!

I think that I am going to stick with the IR diet for now. Linking protein w/ low carbs and see how that works.
