Vanessa, all I can say is WOW - you look incredible! Congrats on such a huge weight loss in a relatively short period of time too! You must feel so much better now. You should be really proud of yourself!

I weighed 192 in Feb of 2003 and I now weigh 158 as of yesterday. I did it by ditching the scale, creating a moderate carb eating plan by following ChristyZ's advice, and began exercising. I try to work out 3-5 days a week doing a variety of exericse such as step areobics, kickboxing, and walking. I do eat my Taco Bell once a week to satisfy my junk food craving where I order a chicken burrito supreme and pintos n cheese. I will eat a cookie once in a while as well so I don't feel like I'm deprived. I try to approach the whole weight loss thing like its no big deal (easier said than done). If I lose weight, great, if I don't, I don't. I just try to take one day at a time. One day I feel like I look great, other days I feel like I'm an ugly duckling. I just try to live by taking one day at a time.

I started Atkins in mid July and to date have lost 18 pounds. It seems like I lose and peak then lose a little more. Don't mind the foods I eat. Just wish it woud come off faster. I have 12 more to go.

18lbs in two months is a huge amount of weight to lose. Congratulations! There is certainly nothing slow about your weight loss!

I was told that I needed to post over here with my weight loss.

I have lost 45 pounds in 6 months. I started in the spring at 227 and am now down to 181. I lost my weight doing a low carb life style and walking. I hate calilng it a diet because its more of a change.

Once I got started on it the weight really just started to come off. I really didn't know I lost that much until one day I seen I had lost about 40 pounds. Thats when people really could start seeing it in my face and neck.

I love running in to people that I have not seen in a few months. They always freak out about it! It feels great!

Way to go Meme! You are doing great! I know what you mean about it being a lifestyle change rather than a diet- that is a really good way to look at it as it will keep you eating healthy even after you reach your goal weight. Keep up the good work!

I am new. Have been seeing lots of entires about the IR diet. Looks like a successful diet plan, but what is it? Is there a book? Any info is appreciated.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to shout about my sucess story so far......
My major downfall was chocolate. We had a very hot summer in the UK and as all of the chocolate in the shops was melted i completly went off it!!
If I eat chocolate now I get really bad headaches.
Then i found out my idol, ex Spice Girl Melanie C was training to do a sports competition, and i saw her training one day. That influenced me to join the gym (again!) an i started eating much better, and drink loads of water. For the first time in my life, the weight just dropped off. I have gone from a UK size 22, to size 16. I feel fabulous, and look so much better.
Next time i see Melanie, (hopefully next week) i'll get a new picture to post, so you can all see the difference. I hope Mel notices too!!! That would be SO great.
