Default PCOS YouTube Video

I recorded my very first YouTube video tonight. I'm just laying out the facts about PCOS.

It's a little dark though, but viewable.

Tina I was able to get metformin without insurance today. The doctor visit cost 67 dollars and metformin was 4 dollars at the walmart pharmacy. I'm unemployed and was denied low income insurance because they wanted to use my relative's income once I lost my job and moved in with family. If I had known the appointment would only be 67 dollars and the metformin 4 dollars I would have gone in years ago and saved myself a lot of problems.

What kind of physician did you see? Just a regular family doctor, an gynecologist, or an endocrinologist?

I've been doing research on and Metformin is covered under Wal-Mart's $4 presciption plan, but it's getting said prescription from a doctor that proving to be difficult.

Congratz on getting your met though! How's it working for you so far?

Thanks!

I used to be a McDonalds addict so I understand. It's just about will powering and knowing that fast food is going you more harm than good.

Yea the health insurance here in the States is something else.

I just saw a regular family doctor but one who has a special interest in treating diabetes so he was able to recognize my pcos symptoms, my wierd blood sugar levels and my family history of diabetes as putting me at risk for developing diabetes myself.

http://www.multicare.org/home/provider/ronald-schubert

I did not even bring up pcos but the doctor did based on my symptoms. I just wanted a refill of my anti depressants.

I can't tell how the met is working after a week only that I've had a nonstop upset stomach since getting on it which will hopefully pass.

Oh ok.

From what I've read about Metformin one of the side effects of it is upset stomach so I think that's pretty normal. I hope that passes and you go on to reap the benefits of the medication. Good luck!

Hi Tina- love your videos! Have you tried Planned Parenthood to get your prescription for Met? They have you pay what you can afford. It's not only for women that are preggo- they see women just for regular gyno exams and such. If there is one in your area you may want to check them out.
