Ok, so last week I started in Met ER and almost all of my s/e have disappeared...i.e. tummy troubles. But, the last day or so something weird has happened. I am peeing like crazy. I mean, like at least once every hour. Is this a s/e of the Met ER?

I think a lot of people pee more when the weather is colder. Some people don't notice it, but around our house we go all the time in the winter, lol. | |

Wow Katie, not sure if it is a side effect but I had the same concern the other day. I'm up at 5am and swear by noon I'd gone to the bathroom 20times and was dreading the rest of the day. I would catagorize myself as going alot before met but now on met...its crazy! More so that I haven't dropped one pound and I follow an IR diet, take 1500 met w/vitamins and exercise 5x/weeek but I've only been on met 1 month now. | |

There could be a connection. Diabetics have an increased amount of urine output.

Yes, I also go to the loo all the time. Even getting up in the night to go. Has your dr checked you for diabeties recently? That's what mine did for me.

I don't remember where I saw it, but I read that Metformin will increase your frequency to urinate. I've noticed a drastic increase when I upped to 2000mg, which is also when I switched from original to extended release.
