Question Pelvic Pain

I'm not sure if anyone has asked this before, I searched for it but not much about pelvic pain came up. What do you do to help with the pain? The only time I don't feel pain in when I take a hot bath and the pain is only gone for maybe 30 minutes to an hour after I get out. My sister tells me I should ask for pain medication at the Dr. but I just feel like I don't want to be dependant on drugs so I don't feel horrible all the time. Anyone got any good pain management tips?

I take calcium supplements for pain. Not only do we newed calcium, but it acts as a muscle relaxant. Warm teas help too.

Heating pads sometimes help. So do the sticking heat pads that you can buy that last up to 8 hours. I've had to go on pain meds though. I'm on naproxen during the day when I have pain, and vicodin at night. I hope you're able to manage the pain without drugs!

If you have a problem processing iron, don't use those sticker-type heating pads. They leach a lot of iron into your bloodstream. Also, if you have a lot of bleeding, use them only on low because it can cause more bleeding. Hope this helps!

I am in the same boat. I am on pain medicine now, I don't take it every day just when I can't function anymore. When I do, I only take it at night. For me, any movement I do makes the pain worse, heat does seem to help but for all the fertility medicine I take, it doesn't work well with the hot flashes. I do acupuncture, which brings some relief and now I do physical therapy. And I try to stay as "lazy" as possible and get as much rest as I can. Usually if I sleep well, my day isn't so bad. Just know you aren't alone, email me if you ever need to talk.

Thanks for the support and the tips, I'm really glad I found this forum. I really think it'll help, I've been feeling a bit blue lately. I've talked to my dr. about the pain but she doesn't seem that sympathetic, I think she has horrible bedside manner and I will be changing to a new Dr. soon. I know I can always go to my family Dr. and get something for the pain but I just want to avoid that for as long as possible.
