Default Pelvic Pain.... HELP!

Ok, I know there are many other disorders I could possibly have, but I have for about 2 weeks have pelvic pain at my left ovary and I wondered if anyone has had this.... could it be a cyst? and what doctor should I go to about it? a family docotor or a gyn? I have NEITHER yet (Recently moved.....)

I have exactly the same problem, I've been having the pain for about 3 months, I've been referred for an ultrasound to see what's going on.

If it's concerning you then definately go and see a doctor about it, it could be a cyst or any number of things.

I hope you have more luck than I did with my doctor, she couldn't have been less helpful if she'd tried.

I had the SAME thing in my LEFT ovary, also1 It also was below my ovary into my inguinal area. It was so painful, I was doubled over. My DH took me to the ER every night that week (this was March '04). FINALLY, my general practitioner referred me to a surgeon and I had surgery on April 1 of that year -- just a Laproscopy. Well, the surgeon "didn't find anything". SO FRUSTRATING! He said it was safe to assume it was a ruptured ovarian cyst (this was before I was Dx PCOS). I still have the pain from time to time but it is usually around when I SHOULD ("should" is the key word haha!) be getting my period. But it is more of just an annoyance rather than actual pain anymore.

Good luck! I'd most definitely make an appointment! Even if it turns out to be nothing, it's MUCH better to have peace of mind!

I have this problem too only I get it mostly over my Right ovary and in my lower pelvic area. When I asked my doctor she just told me it was cronic pelvic pain...Who knows she never did anything else after that.

The pain is so intense sometimes it literally puts me down. It started off where the pain was quick and sudden, sharp. Now its long, intense and sharp.

If someone could tell me more than my doctor is telling me that would be wonderful...i'm too looking for answerings.

Thanks for the replies. I had an untrasound about 6 months ago when I had it the first time, they thought it was stoch issues just hurting that bad all over. They poked and prodded for an hour over every organ from my ribs down and found nothing. Soon after the pain disappeared, now it's back and if I am up I'm fine, the second I sit a while. OH GOD! But thanks for the posts... I had thought maybe ruptured cysts bc I bled/spotting for like 3 extra days after af.

I'll call a dr "sometime" this week. (I HATE drs.....)

Hi

I also get the most terrible pain in my left too!! Have had lots of scans - internal and normal - but the dr cant find anything.

Although my Endo did say he thought it was as I was squashing my tubes

I have a feeling that mine is just my left ovary swelling since other than the initial pain, it only bothers me periodically. Mainly during sex (on occasion) or around the time I SHOULD be bleeding.

ouch! i'm having sympathy pains just reading through these posts! sometimes i get pelvic pain... usually it is like a constant, dull ache in my lower abdomen. sometimes it becomes very sharp and localized to my right lower quadrant... according to my last ultrasound the right ovary was the most swollen with cysts, so it kind of makes sense. i've had the pain get so bad, i've almost gone to the emergency room for it. my gyn said it was probably a cyst that burst.

i would go to a gyn for the pains, because an internist would just refer to to a gyno if everything else comes back normal. (then again, if you have not had a comprehensive physical in a while, it might not be a bad idea to get an internist's opinion as well.)
