Default Pelvic Ultrasound?

I have a quick ? that might be TMI. I was told I need to have a pelvic ultrasound, so I scheduled it for Mon. the 14th. Then I looked it up cuz I am not familiar with any of this stuff. They can do it abdominally or vaginally. She told me I needed a full bladder and when I looked it up you don't need one if they do it vaginally, so I am guessing they will do it abdominally. The reason I am ?ing it is cuz, not thinking bout AF cuz haven't had it in so long, Sun. the 13th will be the week Af should start cuz I am on BCP. So, can I have a regular ultrasound well on the rag, or should I reschedule it in case they want to do it vaginally, too?

I agree with Christy - I'm not sure what the "rules" are on an u/s during AF. I would think that b/c some women have AF while they're pregnant, having an u/s would be ok, but you may want to contact your doc just to be sure as they may also have an internal u/s scheduled for the same time.

Let us know how things turn out!

edited to add:: When I had my u/s I was told to have a full bladder too - once the external was completed they had me empty my bladder and the internal u/s was done.

in my pelvic ultrasound it was done abdominally and i needed a full bladder. they were just looking at my ovaries and it didn't matter that i was just coming to the end of AF as they weren't looking at my womb. so you should be fine.
