I need a Repro Endo in Pensacola or Mobile! I've requested info from Dr. Barry Ripps in Pensacola, but I don't know anything about him. Any info about doctors who specialize in PCOS in the north Florida/south Alabama area would be appreciated!

I know this is a late reply but I can tell you that Dr. Ripps isn't very good (his nurse, though, was really nice. I think her name was Paula). I saw him last November. He had my blood work done but since it showed that I'm not IR, he wouldn't give me any prescriptions. Told me I need to do Atkins (what I've been basically doing for the past 9 years w/ no luck). So I'm still looking for a good doctor in the area. I may try Dr. Koulianos in Mobile soon. Someone wrote on here that he is good. Let me know if you have any luck! | |

I use Dr Inge. Hes in with Koulianos. They are both fabulous drs. Two of the best in my opinion! Good luck! Dr Inge has some great nurses. They also both have great bedside manners.
Also Dr Kleinpeter is a good dr and knowledgeable about PCOS. Hes at Mobile OBGYN.

Thanks, Tammy, for your input. I read one of your messages about your doctor a while back but since that time my family doc gave me a prescription for 500 mg met. It hasn't helped much at all (she's reluctant to put me on more), so I'd like to see a doctor who has more experience w/ PCOS. Drs. Inge and Koulianos sound good. I'll make an appt. with one of them soon.

I believe there is a RE in Fairhope. I live in Gulf Shores and I think one of my friends told me there is an RE in Fairhope. I can't remember his name...gonna get a phone book....I didn't pay a LOT of attention because I don't have insurance and there is no way I can afford out of pocket. Ok there are 2

Making an appt w. Dr. Koulianos on Monday. My mom's friend's son-in-law is a cardiologist in Mobile and he highly recommends him. Says he has a great reputation and that Dr. Inge used to be with an ob/gyn group but was excited about Dr. K's work and joined his practice (several years ago, I guess). Thanks, stormyeyes, for the looking up the doctors in Daphne and Fairhope, too. I'll keep them in mind. I *love* Fairhope

Thanks for asking. My appt. isn't until the end of September. I'm supposed to be getting some information from his office in the mail soon. I'm looking forward to going--if you can call it that, I really hate going to the doctor, but I am looking forward to meeting a doctor who is experienced in treating PCOS I'm hoping he'll put me on metformin (I'd really like to take the XR so I don't have to pop pills all day) and maybe spiro. We'll see! How are you doing w/ your treatment?

Actually it went great. I took clomid and O'd every month. Also I was prenatals and Glucophage. We have male factor so we've been working on that now. Ive stopped ll meds though as Im having weight loss surgery on Tuesday Aug 10. After a year we can see where we stand. Thanks for asking though!

Wow! Good luck with the surgery. I hope it goes really well for you. I am not married so I'm not TTC yet (hopefully I will be one day so I'm just going to see Dr. K in order to talk to him about taking meds to help me lose weight. I'm about 70-80# overweight and I just can't get any weight off no matter how hard I try. It's really discouraging. Anyway, best of luck! I'll be curious to see how you're doing in the weeks and months ahead.

i reccomend dr. george koulianous he is wonderful and responsible for my 3 wonderful little boys 7,5,2. he is the best in his field . don't waste any time calling and getting an appointment . i have friends who just went for a primary visit and never had to go back the man is blessed and a christian which is rare in that feild . good luck,
