Hi a good question! A lot of PCOS ladies have increased androgen production and that developing ovarian follicles to waste and interferes with the production of a dominant follicle. This in turn causes the normal estrogen surge (that makes a woman ovulate) and the progesterone surge (that causes menstruation) to cease.
So Met should lower that androgen production which in turn normalize estrogen, LH and Progesterone levels throughout the monthly cycle.
I haven't, myself, had those specific hormones tested recently (my Doc just tests the ones that were abnormal, and my male hormones were the only ones showing problems), So I have no idea where mine sit comparatively to what they were before.
Hope that info helps.
