I have complained about the thick dark hair on my chin before on this board, and I'm starting to seriously consider doing something about it. Laser treatments, to be exact. I have a few questions for ladies who've had it done. Do you have to grow the hair out before they can do the treatment? If so, how long? How much did the treatments cost altogether? (I'm assuming I will need several treatments!) Did they let you do a payment plan? How much did you pay each month? I know that it will vary depending on where I go, I'm just wanting some ballpark figures. I am really wanting to do this. I am going to try to start saving up money for it now, and maybe by next year I can do this. I think it would help my self-esteem tremendously! Any answers to these questions would be much appreciated!
I have suffered with facial hair for a long time, I would just shave my mustache and use Jolen bleach on the rest of my face. It kind of looked weird because it looked like over grown peach fuzz.
Last January I had an appointment with my derm. and as I was walking through the halls after my appoint. I ran into the nurse assist. who is a good friend of my brother. She told my my face looked good because I had been doing chem. peels and she asked why I was not doing laser?? I said I can't afford it and I am afraid. She took me to a chair and put me under a mag. light and began shaving my face!! She told me I will do you face free so that you can see what a difference it will make. Well, What a difference it did make. My face looked cleaner for some reason.
I now go in every two - three months but Here are the steps that I went through:
1. I could not bleach my hair I want to say two weeks before the procedure.
2. The tech shaved my face, she said it helps the procedure.
3. I can't wax my face at all.
4. After the procedure, I shave daily but it's not all that bad.
When I start to notice that I need to shave more often then I
know it's time for another treatment.
The cost down here where I live is $ 200.00 for entire face and neck which I don't think is too bad, and they give me a discount.
It is more painful in the areas of mustache and neck. It kind of feels like a rubber band snapping on your face.
The good thing is that they put a numbing cream 15 min. before.
I think it is well worth it, go for it girl.
I hope my story was not too long and it gave you an idea of what it's like.
Good Luck to you.

I HAD 5 LASER TREATMENTS DONE ON MY FACE @ $150 A POP. THE HAIR WAS GONE FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, BUT IT ALWAYS CAME BACK. I COULD NOT AFFORD TO KEEP GOING, I HAVE HEARD THAT SOME PEOPLE REQUIRE AS MANY AS 16 - 17 TREATMENTS. IT DID KIND OF STING A LITTLE BIT, ESPICALLY RIGHT UNDER THE NOSE & MY FACE GOT RED & SOMETIMES BROKE OUT. I HAVE NEVER SHAVED THOUGH! I USE THE SALLY HANSEN WAX STRIPS & THEY WORK REALLY WELL FOR ME. YOU MAY HAVE BETTER LUCK THAN I DID BUT IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE & YOU DON'Y SEE RESULTS OVERNIGHT. IT TOOK ABOUT 2 WEEKS FOR THE HAIR TO FALL OUT & THEN 2 WEEKS LATER IT WAS BACK. GOOD LUCK!!

For lasering...YOU MUST KEEP TAKING SPRIO TO HELP BATTLE AGAINST ANYMORE HAIRS TO GROW!!!. I found that out after doing some research on HORMONE BASED HAIR, which the chin/sideburns/neck...etc. would be vs. a women w/ NO PCOS who just has a stray hair done. But talk to a endro, and she'll most likely tell you'll have to take spiro the rest of your life to make the hair growth to stop(which lasering helps it too)
