Default Peppermint vs Spearmint

I cannot seem to find spearmint tea in local health food shops. This might be a dumn question but does peppermint tea have similar anti-androgen properties as spearmint? Also, will it help with acne as well as excess hair growth? Thanks.

From this site, http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/j...TRY=1&SRETRY=0, apparently both acted as antiandrogenics in rats, but the women only drank spearmint tea. Also, my ND told me to get spearmint NOT peppermint tea. So if possible, try to get spearmint. I think some Cysters have had some luck ordering it online?

i just have a spearmint bush in a pot... but i actually didn't know that spearmint had anti-androgen properties.

FYI: you can get "Mint Medley" tea from Wal-Mart that is spearmint tea- it might have some peppermint in it too- but I know it tastes like spearmint and not peppermint, and I think I remember reading the label and it being spearmint tea.

Hello. I was having trouble finding spearmint myself. If your local grocery store has a hispanic food section, you might try there. I actually found dried spearmint in the spice section. It was in a plastic bag and made by "Rio Grande". I make my own tea with it!
