Question Period

Okay yea. Ive been taking metformin for about 3 or 4 months. And I thought I was pregnant but I dont think I am. I just got my first period like last week. And it was only 4 days. I was shocked. Because a few months ago they put me on provera and I had a period for like almost 2 weeks. Its weird. I was expecting a longer period...you think its just normal to have a short period or not??

There's nothing normal when it comes to PCOS. But I think you are fine. I think your body is probably starting to try to regulate itself. Hopefully it will. I took Provera and barely got a period... I basically spotted for about 4 days, and that's it. But I took that, then the doc started me on BCP, and the first month I had the HEAVIEST period EVER. I bled through the first pad I put on like it was just tissue, and had to change my underwear and pantyhose, then I bled through a super tampon onto a pad in about 45 minutes. So I had the opposite reaction than what you had. Your first period probably was getting rid of the build up from however long you had been without AF.

So I guess its normal. It was heavy but I was expecting aleast 1 week. And 3 weeks before I had my period. My breast got really sore. They never hurt that much before. Hints why I thought I was pregnant. Stupid PCOS! ha

Your hormones are still out of balance. That's why your breasts were so sore, but that is pretty normal with artificial hormones.

You might consider using natural progesterone cream. Helps keep things balanced more smoothly.
