Default Period Stopped?

I was diagnosed recently and I have never missed a period. My cycles have varied in days between 28 - 40 days. I am currently on day 60 and no period in sight

My husband and I are trying for a baby but he has been traveling and have not been together sexually for over a month. I have taken two pregnancy tests at different times both were negative. So I do not think that I am pregnant.

I am worried that my period is stopping and I am very concerned. Has anyone else had this issue were they are regular and then...nothing?

If you are not pregnant then I wouldn't worry too much about missing a period. I think it kinda goes along with the territory (PCOS that is). Aside from the PCOS, there are many reasons why you might miss a period. Have you had any recent weight gain or loss? A lot of stress? A change in eating habits? If you are really concerned, you should visit your Dr. however it's probably something minor.

yeah I had almost the same thing! My periods were always on time. 28-35 day cycles. Then they just stopped. Period. So far it's been a year and no natural period in sight! I had every doctor I saw run pregnancy tests on me for almost 7 months before they decided if I was pregnant, there was a suspiciously absent floating baby in my ultrasound photos and... shouldn't I have LOOKED pregnant??? I mean I had stopped having sex 6 months before, it would have to be a very tiny baby no? Weirdo doctors.

Sorry I can offer no help on the concieving front, but at least you know you're not alone?

Okay. That sucks. I guess I was just going along thinking that PCOS meant that my period would just not show up like clockwork but that I would still get it. I never thought that it would just stop. I am in for a longer road than I thought.

I guess the good news is that so many women on here seem to be able to conceive.

Just a thought- but for me low carbing brings my cycle back like clock work. Unfortunatley I am so far off the bandwagon right now its not even funny, but always as soon as I start to low carb- my period comes within one maybe two weeks of starting. I haven't had a cycle in three months so I need to take my own advice right now and start cutting back! Easier said than done though, especially with Thanksgiving right around the corner.

My periods came to a sudden hult at 15. I was very regular before that. In 13 years I have only had 1 natural period and that was just last week. Not sure what caused it the only thing that was different is I destressed my life. But irregular cycles like the other ladies said are regular with PCOS.

I also had the same problem. A few years ago, I hadn't had a cycle in over two years. Then I began taking control of my weight problem by following a low carb diet as well. After losing the weight, my cycles came back (very surprisingly) to me needless to say. I was completely shocked! Now they are like clockwork as I still continue to "diet" and exercise regularly. Not to mention, I ended up getting pregnant. I now have a two year old. Good Luck to you!
