Default Period stuff...poss TMI

What constitutes a period?

I havent had one for nearly a year, since I went off birth control but the last couple of days I have had some light spotting. By spotting I mean that when wipe there is a bit of blood but not enough to need a pad or anything.

Even though it is light, is this a period? I had something similar about 3ish weeks ago but it was more like blood tinged discharge for 2 days. Ive een on Met for a week and a half now and have been following the Low GI diet and have lost 2kg already (yay!).

Anyone else have any experience with this?

I wouldnt call it a period.

Back before I was dx with PCOS. I had the same there where I would spot for weeks on end (not enough to wear a pad, but enough to know it was there). The spotting eventually got worse and I started clotting and stuf too. But it still wasnt a period. I finally found an OB that would listen to me and he put me on a Birth Control pill for 10 days which stopped the bleeding and a few weeks later. I HAD A REAL PERIOD! As your doctor about it if it continues.

Congrats on the weight loss!

Getting off the pill can cause spotting.

It is considered a period...a light one...but a period all the same.

I am not sure of your history but could you be pregnant? I am just asking because you can get blood tinged CM during O and implantation. I had not seen AF in a year and then one day I started feeling like a hang over was not going away. I later found out I was 2 months prego.

Thanks for the replies!

Im thinking it is a period. Its been 3 days now and although its still not heavy, its steady. Wow, this is amazing. Ive only been on the met for just under 2 weeks!

Oh and about being pregnant, well thats the HOPE but I dont think so. I guess anything is possible now though.

Thats so awesome the met is working for you I haven't had a period since I went off the pill two years ago and I've been on 2000mg of met a day, they also put me back on the pill three months ago and still nothing so think positive and hopefully this will work for you, I know it did with on of my close friends.

Congrats,
Christy
