Hey tiff123!

I'm really sorry to hear that you've been going through this for so long!(((((hugs))))) Do you by chance have fibroids?

My mom recently went through something VERY similar and even after four days of Provera, the clots didn't stop! She was soaking through towels and passing baseball sized clots which landed her in the e.r. The next day, she changed doctors (an OB-GYN from the same hospital as the er) and was seen right away. The doctor saw her at 11am and had her scheduled for a procedure to stop bleeding fibroids that same afternoon.

If your doctor doesn't do anything more than provera (which obvously isn't working at this point), find someone that will take you seriously and get you in right away. They might be able to put you on a combination pill (BCP) to try to control the bleeding, or they might be able to physically do something to stop it. Don't let your blood count and hemaglobin keep dropping! Make them listen to you! A month and a half of bleeding is waaaay to long!

Best of luck with everything, and I hope this gets resolved VERY soon!

Hi. Here's a link to some information on alternative treatment of fibroids, incase that is what you are diagnosed with. http://www.fwhc.org/health/fibroids-help.htm

On that note, the year before I got my PCOS diagnosis, I learned I had fibroid tissues... they are quite common, typically in individuals with elevated estrogen. They tend to shrink during pregnancy and post menopause. Mine shrank following several years of extensive cleansing and detoxification and weight loss. Ie: as my PCOS symtoms faded, so did they.

Hope everything comes out ok.

Best,
Cassy

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I've had a crazy week.

How did your appointment go? Please let us know how you are doing. (((Hugs)))

Fibroids are tumors or growths that are made up of muscle cells and other tissues that grow in the uterus. They are almost always benign (non-cancerous) and are common in women of child bearing age. They range in size from being the size of a popcorn kernal to being several inches long.

In some instances, fibroids may causes heavy menstrual bleeding and may require medical attention. Treatment options vary depending on age, size and location of the fibroids, and whether or not you might want to become pregnant in the future.

Hope this information helps, and again, sorry I wasn't able to post sooner!
Hope you're feeling better too!

HI ladies,
update. The bleeding has stopped but I am worried that once I come off the b/c pills it will start again ? If it does so you know why this would be and have any of you had this?
THanks

Tiff-
I am curious how this turned out for you. I too have been bleeding for about 2 months...I called the doctor just today and they said to take 600mg Motrin or Ibuprofin every 4-6 hours til it stops. He said if it doesn't stop tomorrow to check in.

What happened for you?

hey
he put me on heavy doses of birth control and then it stopped. It has been a week now and it still good. I hope that it sticks. I think you shoul ask him to check your hemogloban and iron to make sure that they are not low.
keep me updated
