hey girls...i'm on yasmin, currently on the active pills. I have exactly one week of the active pills left. I have not missed any pills and take them at the same time, every day. It's now saturday AM, and starting back on tuesday, i had brown discharge (i mean BROWN...and i just assumed it was old blood...)...so I've been using light tampons, on and off, since tues. Didn't have one in last nite, and this AM, it's my period. Like, the normal flow and i have a few regular cramps.

Does anybody else ever have this? I've NEVER spotted between periods and have been like clockwork the past two years, even without BCP. Any ideas as to what this may be?!?!?! Thanks girls and have a great day!!!

Is this your first cycle on yasmin? My first cycle, in March, I had the same thing happened. I just figured that my body was not in sync with the pills yet. In fact, by the time I got to the inactive pills, my period was over. The next month, I got my period as soon as I was done with the pills. This month, it took 3 days before I got my period.

Even if you didn't just start the pills, it is sometimes normal to have "breakthrough" bleeding. It's really nothing to worry about.

I started spotting on BCP like the half way point on them because the pills didnt have enough progesterone in them. Talk to you doc about it. I was on ortho tricyclen and they put me on lo ovral i think? just talk to your doc. they will know which has more progesterone to balance it out.
