I've been taking DQ and Vitex tincture for almost 3 months now. This month i've been having light bleeding since 3 weeks and was wondering if this has to do with my body getting to normalize again. I bleed for two days then its stops, then it starts again. I use only one pad (thats used for the light flow days) a day. Do any of you women out there who have been taking Vitex or DQ or both tincture/pill form have been in this similar situation as me.
Yeah, unfortunately it sounds like the dong quai side effects are getting you. Non-stop bleeding/excess bleeding/spotting or bruising a lot is one of its side effects. You shouldn't take it when you are bleeding, so if it starts you should stop it until it's over, or it has a habit on continuing it. If you still have bleeding, I'd stop it. I used to take it and had to stop it for that reason, but I find vitex tincture to be great (it doesn't have that effect).

I do still bleed a little everyday. For how long do u think i should stop taking the DQ tincture? Can i take my Vitext tincture w/o DQ in it? Let me know.
You can definitely take the vitex alone. As for how long you stop the dq for, well I think that depends on the person. I've heard of people that are still affected by it for a few months after stopping it (i.e. still spotting/bruising). Maybe stop it for a month and see how you go and if you haven't had any more spotting then try it again? You might find that you're like me and just can't seem to tolerate it.

babygrl - I'm glad your spotting stopped. I do get my periods every month now, though they're still easily put out by stress/bad eating etc. I conceived a couple of months back but my prog was still low, so I m/c. I'm in the process of getting some NPC to take after I O (we need it via prescription here and it's taken me this long to find a doc who'll prescribe it). It's pretty amazing though, because a year ago I'd never ovulated apart from with full on fertility meds.

Jenna's Mom did you take Vitex throughout your periods or were there some days that you stopped. Let me know what you used to do, i know that now you're pregnant.

babygrl I'm not pregnant now - I m/c (still need natural progesterone cream) but I'm still very pleased that I'm ovulating and am able to get pregnant. I've taken vitex in a variety of ways until I worked the one that is best for me, which is to take it daily, including during my period.
