periods and metformin

hi, ive had a look around the website and couldnt really see anything the same as my problem.
im on metform, 1500mgs daily and have been since may.

my periods became so regular that they were coming on the 8th of each month for the first two periods, then on the 10th since then...well its almost the 15th and i still dont have this months and im majorly beginning to worry.
im terrified that this means the metformin is no longer working , im on 1500mgs a day and have really been trying to take it at the same time every day etc. the doctors also put me on a tablet for ibs called colofac (mebeverine hydrochloride)does anyone know if this would stop the met working?
i was at the gyno 2 weeks ago for pains im getting all over my stomach and lower abdomen, she says its not coming from cysts and that there wasnt anything that worried her after she did an internal examination. she also took swabs to make sure its not an infection...and i havent heard back so im guessing they were clear.
i dont think im pregnant because ive not had sex in 2/3 months and i had my last 2 periods after that...
ive also been trying to lose weight, ive lost 2 stone but that was before the metformin, that seemed to slow things right down, and now im back on the diet/exercise plan, i usually lose quite easily but the last 3 weeks ive only lost 1lb. even my slimming class teacher says something weird must be going on :S
im just worried im not going to have periods anymore i guess...
any one got any advice?

I'd have a heart to heart with your Dr. There could be a ton of reasons why this has happened..thyroid issues, dietary issues etc. You really need to talk to him to get a clear view of what the culprit is.
