Default periods, none or too many???

I was wondering with refernence to periods, would most of you say that you are not getting one with pcos, or would you say you are getting too many?

Personally I get on average 2 a month and they last abotu 8 days each so I am only free about 1 week out the month!

I have noticed however that most girls on here are not getting theirs for months and months.

Whats the real sympton?

Do you think my symptons could be more than pcos???

When I read the title I thought, "thats me" because i either have none or too many.

For example I bled for the first 6months of this year, then had one month off and had what felt like a "normal" period. Haven't had any thing since.

My sister who has just been diagnosed with PCO (minus the S) is exactly the same.

I was told mine was because of my weight (am extremely overweight) but my sister is slim.

I know this isn't of any real help but just to let you know you are not the only one who has too many.

Smile Yep can relate to that

Hi
I've always had one or the other I've gone for nearly 2 years without period then bled continuously for 9/10 months..Or when I've been losing a lot of weight I find that I'm like yourself bleeding for 5 days every fortnight...I don't thinkPCOS has a norm it effects people differently..

All the best

Becs

By the sounds of that i'd say everyone is different too! I hardly have any periods, my last one was probably 3 months ago. Although this sounds great compared to what u suffer with, it's also very worrying too! Take care, love Alice xx

Red face In my case None

Hiya

when i stopped BCP's 2 years ago i thought i might lose a few periods but little did i know i wouldnt get any. It one respect it was cool because i hate the damn things anyway but in another it made me feel like i wasnt a women without them.

This week i started metformin 1500mg and low and behold within 3 days i started to spot....great i said..then i thought about it abit...when i had a scan in august to confirm i still had the condition the doctor said my womb lining was double what it should be. So thats gonna be exiting stage south sometime soon and its not gonna be pretty. (add gory mental images here )

They are kind of a curse and a blessing depending on what mood your in at the time.

That was my 2 pennies worth

When I first found out I had PCOS I was having a period every 5-6months... as time went by it was more like every 6-9months sometimes I would only get 1 period in a year! Even with BCP's my Periods were very patchy at best.. I stopped taking them because of unwanted side affects and they weren't working. For the best part of the last 2 years I have been regular as clockwork but the periods have been heavier and more painful than they were pre PCOS symptons... period pains were near non existent for me before... my periods always last 5 days exactly whether theyre regular or not.
