Arrow Periods and Progesterone cream..any help is appreciated!!

Help Soulcysters!

I have been using progesterone cream for the first time this month combined with the low-carb diet and exercise to try to get my periods on a regular cycle. I planned to use the progesterone cream (1/2 teaspoon of 480mg/oz cream) for fourteen days and then stop and hope that my period would begin. July was the first month since November that I had not had a regular cycle. (Prior to Nov. I was on BCP and was regular) So, for August I was hoping to "induce" a regular cycle, because it seems once my periods stop, they stop for two or three months. I was trying to see if the progesterone would give me reg. cycles for a few months so I could stop and have cycles on my own to ttc.

The problem is, today is the tenth day of progesterone use, and I am noticing blood on the toilet paper ( not a huge amount yet) as if my period is starting...sorry so gross:o . Also my face is broken out (worse than normal) and I am a weepy brat (typical AF behavior for me).

I have been under more stress than usual the last few days, since I am beggining school. Could stress be a factor?

Am I just screwing things up worse using the progesterone cream?

Should I not apply the cream tomorrow and see what happens?

Sorry so many questions, but any advice is appreciated

Thanks All!!!
Molli

P.S. Has anyone else had any sucess ttc or maintaing reg. cycles by using the cream?

Hi Molli, I'm not really sure how to answer your question, as I'm just starting my prog. cream "journey." I haven't had a period in over 2 years and just got one the other week because of prog. cream so I know it works. I wanted to suggest that you post this question in the alternative remedies board, or the TTC board, because I'm always seeing posts about NPC (natural progesterone cream).

Exclamation Some advice

When I began using NPC, I used it for 7 days and got AF. My herbalist said to stop using it then start up again on CD 14 and use it for 14 days. You are probably starting AF and I don't think you are doing anything wrong. It works differently on different people. I have since slowed my use of it. I am trying to get back on the plan of taking it CD14-28 but sometimes I slack off and forget. If it were me, I would take it until you get a full flow. Look on the alternative remedies board like Sarabelle mentioned. If you have any other questions please let me know and I'll try to help as much as possible.

Molli,
I have been using progesterone cream for 19 months, also low carbing.

My first month was like yours I had planned on using the cream for 15 days but I started my period on day 11.

Your body will take a while to adjust each month will be a little different.

What I do is at the end of my period I count 30 days out, then count back 15 days and start the cream on that day.

After a couple of months you will see that you start you period before the 15 days are up so you start to tapper the amount of days you use the cream. Currently I am only on the cream for 7 days and then I start my period.

You will have to experiment to see what will work best for you.

I agree that you should continue using the cream until you start to flow, rather then spot.

Rebecca
