im new to this post. lets get a discussion going about pet peeves:things coworkers say, friends , relatives, exboyfriends, etc that have really made you mad. i dont see any posts on this topic so i decided to start one myself. i have pcos diagnosed with it in 99. im married and my hubbie and i are trying to have a baby.
"Wow, if you got a raise you might never have a baby!" (Assuming I'm not having one because of my career and not thinking that I might have fertility issues)
"I feel so fat!"
(When the person is 5'9" and weighs 110 lbs.)
my administrator always talks like I'm going to have a baby next week. Oh when you have your baby this, oh when you have your baby that. I'm not pregnant. I'm not even going to be married untill September. But she talks like Im going to pop a baby out any minute. Frustrating, but I really don't know how to address the issue.

Update: We're actively trying to conceive. I just had blood work done that confirmed I do have PCOS. My last Dr. said I just had the symptoms because I was over weight. When she retired my new Dr. decided to have the blood work done.
i work in a retail store. i really hate when a customer asks you a question or where an item is and they stare at your attempt to erase all your facial hair. i wish they could understand i did not ask to be this way, and by staring they only make me feel more insecure. i consider myself to be average on the beauty scale. Maybe they should put themselves in my shoes for a day.
seing as shes a woman too i would briefly explain you have some female issues and youd prefer that she not keep mentioning babies. if that doesnt work wear a big pair of shoes and kick her in the knees.
"Maybe they like fat women over there!" - said by a *****y male co-worker after I made a comment about my trip to Turkey and made a mention of the overtly horny men there. - this happened when I was teaching English in Japan. And I wasn't that fat then, maybe a size 14.
First of all, size 14 is not fat! Idiotic coworkers--my #1 pet peeve! "Are you pregnant?" "Have you gained weight?" Rrrrgh, like I don't know, and no I'm not pregnant, just bloated!!
#2 Idiotic salesladies (cosmetics)--"Are you on your period...is that why you have so much acne?" "Your skin is flaking." Rrrgggg....
#3 Idiotic doctors--"You have hereditary hairloss. Take Rogaine." "Take the pill." "Take depo!" "Take Prozac!" "Abnormal periods are common." "Take prednisone for your abdominal weight problem & head hairloss!" Raaaaaggg! I'd go to medical school myself if I weren't so old now! I have NO hereditary hair loss history, and I'm not depressed! (or at least it's not my sole or most important issue!)

Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.
My favorite - "You are 42. You don't want any more children". I really dislike someone telling me what I want or don't want. I am perfectly capable of making my own decision.

You have such a pretty face...I think we've all heard that one before.
Also, I have gained about 20 pounds in the past 2 years, and people always ask me, why did I gain so much weight. Because I felt like it!! Too long of a story to say anything else.
Likewise, I am called PIG by students. I am about a size 10/11 these days and that's too big for Korean women sizes. Then again, its really cheap to get stuff custom made.
People can be so cruel. I was explainning that to my best friend when I took her with me to my electrolysis appointment. I started going about 10 years ago. I told her it only takes one insensitive comment...mine Rui DaSilva in Grade six, and that sticks with you like forever. Its horrible.
Chin up ladies.

Korea? I don't know how you stand it. I had a Korean boss (in Japan) for 2 years, and thought she was a total nut job. I then found out that her behavior was standard Korean Management Style.
I would baloon up and then go down in weight in Japan - unfortunately, my last name contains the letters PIG - though the Japanese tend to be (a little - not much) more polite - one kid called me "pig sensei" which almost sounds like an anagram of my last name - I told him off, and he never came back to school - I didn't think that would happen, though Japanese tend to be easily intimidated if you fight back. Not so with Koreans, as far as I can tell. Hang in there - but if I were you, I'd look for work elsewhere - the Taiwanese are pretty nice people, in my experience.
