Default PG without any meds?

I was just DX'ed in July due to irregular periods and elevated testosterone. I'm thin and don't have a lot of symptoms. My dr. doesn't think I O because my cycles are so long (50-60 days) and will most likely need Clomid or something to get pg. I've had to start taking Provera to get my period. DH and I aren't ready to officially start TTC for a few more months but decided to "stop being careful" and if we get pg, then we'd be excited that we did it without meds. Just wondering if anyone out there like me that was able to get pg without clomid or met?

I got pregnant 3 months after I got married without trying. I didn't even know I had PCOS back then. My cycles were 50-90 days. I know I ovulated every time because I use Natural Family Planning and was tracking my basal body temperature (BBT). Having long cycles doesn't mean you don't ovulate - I did, just much later in the cycle than most people. If you track your BBT, you can tell if you are ovulating or not. Keeping track of your cervical mucus and temperature can help you determine the best time to try to conceive. I think the fertility friend website can help you do this. My second child was also concieved without trying four years later, though I was on metformin by then.

I'm also thin (5'7'' and 127 pounds) and have no symptoms except very long cycles and an elevated LH/FSH ratio. So you sound kind of like me.

My DH and I tried without meds for 18 mos. I now have regrets of not starting meds sooner. Metformin and Clomid are so cheap and accessible to us cysters that it didn't make sense for us to go so long without it. It has now been 6 mos with meds, and we are optimistic that this is our month.

I agree that you should at least start to track your BBT.

I am 5-8 and 122 lbs (thanks to the met and H1N1!)

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely look into charting my BBT -- I don't know anything about it. Good luck kalliek, I hope you get a BFP soon!

I got pregnant between being diagnosed with PCOS and waiting for an appointment with an OB/GYN to start meds. Sadly, the baby died when I was four months pregnant, but the whole experience gave me a lot of hope, ultimately.

Hey all I got pg without any meds but lost the baby at 5 weeks. I think its more luck than anything when it comes to concieving naturally with pcos, as you cant time anything exactley you can just get lucky and happen to have ovulated and happened to have had sex at the right time. I am currentlyb on Clomid and track my bbt

I did both times but didn't know I had PCOS. I had toxemia both times/ it's like being allergic to being a prego. Figured something was wrong 3 years ago but didn't get a diagnoses until this year.
