Hi,

Is anyone taking this weight loss drug? Today is day one forme and I'm a little disappointed b/c I feel hungry right now. An hour after eating a small lunch no less!

Hi!

I have been taking it for one week. For the first few days, I still had a pretty big appetite and I thought it wasn't going to work, but it has been a week, and my appetite is starting to decrease and my energy is picking up and I have dropped 5 pounds even though I have done little else. So, stick with it for a week and see how it goes.

Let me know! I would love to compare notes! I am only going to take it through Feb because I am starting Fertility treatments March 1st. My doc just wants me to take off 20-30 pounds first.

Hope you have great success with it!

My husband is currently taking Phentermine. It took him a couple of days to start feeling the effects, but then it worked really well for him. He stopped snacking and started eating much smaller meals. One thing that he did notice is that after a month of taking it, it didn't seem to be working as well. So his doctor recommended that he do 3-4 weeks on and then 1 week off and that has worked better. He is not sure exactly how much weight he has lost, but he is estimating about 20 lbs in 2 months. It seems like some people start do develop a tolerance for it and then it is not as effective. So as long as you don't pig out on the week off, it gives your body a break and then it starts working again. If you notice that happening to you, you might want to talk to your doctor about taking a few days off every month or so. Best of luck with the weight loss!

Thanks for the info!! I will keep at it as I want this weight off!! I have a friend on it who doesn't take it until around 10am. My DR said to take an hour before breakfast but my trouble time is later in the day so I'm going to see about taking it letter.

Let's definitely compare notes!!

Thanks!

I've been on it for 9 days now and I feel a bit discouraged. I'm not really hungry and I've been eating about 1500-1600 calories (my dr said eat less than 1700 so I"m good there) but the weight is not coming off that well. I've lost about a pound or two but that is all. I hope that it starts to come off! I'm going to keep at it and keep exercising. Surely it will start coming off like everyone says. It is making me focus on food a lot less so that is good. Instead of wanting to eat all the time I'm just not all that interested.

Hang in with it Amada. Maybe your body just needs time to adjust.

Well, my first week was great on it, then I got a kidney stone!! So I am on pain killers. Once it is passed I will start up the phenetrmine again. Hopefully next week.

I am so discouraged. I feel like there is always one set back or another to deal with!

Sorry to hear about your kidney stone! I've heard those are painful! I hope you are feeling well again soon. Don't be discouraged. I always feel that way, too, though when something seems to impede my progress but you'll get there.

I'm not going to give up on the phentermine. I know I'm eating less and I'm sure the scale will catch up. I'm not going to weigh myself for a few days and then see if there are any changes. I'm 197 now and hoping to be below 195 by Christmas. Just a week away. I'm glad I'm taking this over the holidays as it makes it much easier to say NO to all the goodies everyone is giving out. Some one gave me a bunch of Hershey kisses the other day and I ate 2 and gave the rest away. Normally I would have eaten all of them and then just ate like a pig the rest of the day b/c I would have already blown it. Taking this phentermine is the first time I have felt in control of my hunger in a long time.

My son has strep throat right now so we were up most of the night and spent a good part of our Saturday in the doctor's waiting room. He is feeling better and we actually caught it before it got too bad. He doesn't even have a fever so I'm glad he's not feeling too bad. Thanks for all your posts! I look forward to getting them!

I was on Phen for a about 6 months last year and I lost 27 pounds! Its a miracle drug! It tends to be less effective after a while of taking it and I have been taking a long break from it. I need to loose about 10 more pounds and thinking of trying it again. The bad things about this drug is that it made me break out more and pee alot. But thats okay with me if I loose weight. Good luck!

My DR warned me that a lot of people gain the weight back after going off of it. Has anyone had that experience? Being on the phen makes me feel more in control of my hunger and eating. I just worry what will happen when I go off of it. I've been on it for two weeks and I've lost about 4 pounds. But, I finally feel like it "kicked in". The first week or so I didn't really feel like it worked as Iwas still hungry a lot. Yesterday, though, I had to make myself eat dinner as I wasn't even hungry.

I lost 70 pounds with Phentermine a few years ago, and I only took, it for a few months, then started Weight Watchers. Have slipped into old habits now, and my Dr. isn't allowed to prescribe it anymore...so I'm stressing out, having a hard time getting back into dieting, but I've gained 30 of the 70 back, and I can REALLY tell a difference in my health, even had a cyst rupture the other day

Ouch! I've had cysts hurt but I've never had one rupture. Sounds painful!!

I've never been on met. My Dr did some tests and fortunately, I'm not even insulin resistance. I'm glad it worked for you, though. Yasmine bcp are really the only thing that has worked for me.

I lose and gain all the time even without weight loss drugs. I guess the bottom line is "old habits die hard". I over eat for so many reasons. The phen is just a quick fix I guess.

Going to grannies today to start the Christmas celebrations!! There will be a TON of food. I'm hoping that I can avoid it. I am glad I'm on the phen during the holidays.

Hope everyone has a Wonderful Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Hi, I started taking phen Nov 1 and have lost 20 lbs so far. I'm sure I gained a couple in the last couple of days, though - my family was together for Christmas for the first time in 10 years, and we like to eat! I took phen about 6 years ago and lost 70 lbs, but then gained 30 back, then gained 20 more when I got pg. But, I am committed to losing 100 lbs this time and getting healthy for good - I am almost 30 and want to be over this whole obses thing.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I didn't take my phen over the last few days b/c we were traveling and eating out. I didn't want to waiste it when I knew we would be eating horribly anyway. It also makes me a little anxious and so does my family...I didn't think the two would mix.
Anyway, started it back today and feel good about continuing with the weight loss...

I did notice that even though I didn't take it, it took a lot less to fill me up. Even though I ate fatty things (there weren't many options at Grannies) I didn't eat as much.

I also went on a very brisk 30 minute walk this morning.
