Curious to know if anyone has tried Phentermine for weight loss? I have a friend also with PCOS who was prescibed this medicine and has lost an amazing amount of weight. I looked it up and read the warnings, etc and it is a ampetamine so I am aware the effects can do numerous things to your mind.

Just wondering if anyone else has been given this for weight loss related to PCOS.

Husband and I are going to be Aunt and Uncle!!! My sister, who also suffers with PCOS is pregnant and DD is in October!

I have used Phentermine before. I did loose a lot of weight. I found that I did not even think about food. I think it is best to use this drug strictly as an "adjustment" tool to a new life style. A month or 2 on the drug helped me become less "food focused" and made me feel really good about the weight loss. Once I started loosing the weight it was easier to be good. I wish you luck...be prepared for some sleepless nights, though. I found sleeping very difficult with the meds.

I took it a few years ago and lost about 20 lbs pretty quickly and didn't gain much of it back (lost weight again since then after discovering PCOS measures). Yeah, I had a great time using it, it was definitely an "upper", but I feel I've suffered some memory/concentration loss due to it and I wouldn't do it again.
