My Mood: Points: 23,574.28 Bank: 73,093.91 Total Points: 96,668.20 | Linaa - As I told you in an earlier post, I have gone to MLF but mostly saw Dr. Pfeffer and rarely Dr. Glassner but never Dr. Orris. I found that Dr. Pfeffer tends to air on the cautious side and Dr. Glassner is a little more ambitious. Though I never felt that Pfeffer was not doing enough for me, in fact recently he went very far out of his way to offer me something which I did not follow through with but I wasn't extremely grateful for his effort. If I ever do go back it will definitely be with Pfeffer but you should be warned that he is very opinionated and doesn't mind letting you know. If you can get past that point with him then things can work out well. How has your experience been with Dr. Orris? I know he has only been there for a few years and they had initially brought him on to initiate their egg donor program. I was sorry to hear of your miscarriage the other month. I hope you can find something that works for you soon.
Best of luck.

Points: 314.56 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 314.56 | Hi, I have been seeing Dr. Glassner since end of April. I am in my first cycle with Clomid and waiting to see if it was successful. I had two follicles that ovulated, but I may have hostile cervical mucus. I am hoping and praying that I will be pregnant this time. I had a miscarriage last year.
Although I am still pretty new to Main Line Fertility, I am very happy with the way things are going. The staff there is VERY nice and the whole practice seems to run like a well-oiled machine. I have no experience with the other doctors, but Dr. Glassner is very proactive, which is exactly what I want! Also, my boss highly recommended him to me. |

Aggressive, but shoot when we are trying to have a baby and all else fails...aggression is a good thing...right?!?!? I have an apt tomorrow @ the Paoli office. It's for u/s and bw to see if the FE i took in the later half of my cycle did anything.

In my opinion Dr. Orris is a very personable and knowledgable physician. I will be sending some baby dust your way. Right now I am going to the PCOS center in Center City and trying some new medicine. But if it doesnt work, I will be at MLF too!!

My Mood: Points: 3,370.76 Bank: 69,527.90 Total Points: 72,898.66 | Hi Ladies!
I've been a patient at MLF for almost a year, and I've got mixed opinions. I haven't met with Dr. Orris yet, but I'm supposed to tomorrow at my follie check. I've mostly had Dr. Glassner and Dr. Pfeffer. Dr. Glassner is waaaay more aggressive than Dr. Pfeffer. He started me on 150iu of follistim in April, then dropped it down to 75 when I produced a bunch of follies. When I went back three days later, I had 8 potential eggs, and he really tried to push me into converting to ivf. I ended up hyperstimming, and in the worst pain of my life (so far - I haven't given birth yet, I assume that will be worse ). I kind of feel like he set me up to hyperstim so that he could get me to go to ivf.
My other problem is that it has seemed harder and harder to get early appointments. I usually get "We can fit you in at 9:30." But that's really inconvenient since I have to work, and the Bryn Mawr office is on my way to work. And with having so many monitoring appts for injections, it's starting to interfere with my job. They also changed my appt from Sunday morning to Saturday morning with just a day's notice b/c apparently Dr. Orris will be there on Saturday instead of Sunday now. I feel bad for any ladies who may have already had plans for Saturday.
If this cycle doesn't work, I'm considering switching to the Reproductive Science Institute in Chesterbrook. Their main office is close to my house. Has anyone here heard of it? What were your impressions? TIA!

I feel they are very agressive doctors...and sometimes I wonder if it's more for their numbers than for the fact that we want children. Hope it gets better for you hun.

I can't really comment about the appt times because I worked at Bryn Mawr so anytime was convienent for me. But if you want to stay at MLF you might consider switching to Pfeffer, I think he is pretty conservative. I have a friend who swore by Glassner but had to deal with Pfeffer for one of her IVF and when they were discussing how many embies to put back in, she wanted all 4 where he only wanted to do 1 or 2, so she didn't like him for that reason. However what would she have done if all 4 took? Best of luck with everything even if you decide to switch.

My Mood: Points: 3,370.76 Bank: 69,527.90 Total Points: 72,898.66 | Lina - I hope the 2ww passes quickly for you, and ends with a bfp! My appt went ok. I had a few small follies, but nothing too exciting yet. Dr. Orris bumped me to 75iu and I go back for another check on Wednesday. He seems nice, and definitely more conservative than Dr. Glassner, so I feel like I'm in good hands. Maybe the appts will be easier at Paoli. Guess I'll just hope for the best.
Andrea - I agree, Dr. Pfeffer is more conservative. It's interesting, though, that it seems whoever I see on my first appt of the cycle determines who's going to be my doctor for the whole cycle. Last time I only saw Glassner. This one it seems I'll be with Orris. We'll see how it goes.

I am sure they can accomodate you unless there is a certain time/day that you need to be seen. So you are going to the Paoli office now? Is that more convienent for you? Good luck with you appt. on Wed.
Linaa - Good luck with the 2ww!

Bryn Mawr is on my way to work, so it's easy to stop on my way, as long as I can get an early enough appt. BTW - I just noticed your signature. I am so sorry for your loss.
