I think he is aggressive enough in wanting to make you O but not super O...I loved the fact that if the first try doesnt work he will try something different in the same cycle. My first cycle was two seperate rounds of Clomid and this one was Clomid first than Femara. He says if no BFP, that we will try Clomid for 7 days instead of five and Femara will be our back up w/ possible injectibles ~ I appear to need longer stimulation. He also says my ovaries are stubborn, I can O just takes some work. My insurance does not cover injectibles (and I work for the company) and he gave me some donated Follistim. I am so greatful. What cycle day are you on?? Also, when you tried Femara how many mgs did you try. I do think this place does push to get to injectibles too quick...lol....but I know they want us to get our BFP.
I originally was going to Drexel on Broad st. I seen Dr. Minnassian a few years ago and remember getting a letter that he will no longer be in that location. So when I started to try again, I seen Dr. Blasco...turns out he is semi retired and only see patients for consults...I kind of flipped out when I was referred to MLF b/c I like the convience of going to Drexel...I work down the street from there on Spring Garden. My first appt was on a Saturday and DH and I actually took a test run Friday after work to find it. I thought that was easy enough until they told me my next appt would be in West Chester...well I was never in West Chester before. I took a day off work lol b/c I didn't know how far it was...that day was my lucky day b/c we were ready for back to back IUIs the next two days. Which one day happen to be Paoli...another place I had never been before. Paoli is closer for us just about the same distance as Bryn Mawr. West Chester is a bit more of a hike. Now I am used to the distance and try to get my appts in early so I don't miss more than 2-3 hours of work. I have been using my vacation time to cover the hours..I am slowly running out lol...I was so glad that my IUI fell on a Saturday and I didn't have to take more time off work.
Andrea ~ So sorry for you loss sweetie. ((((huggs))))

My Mood: Points: 24,457.37 Bank: 82,315.62 Total Points: 106,772.99 | Thanks for kind words. It has been hell. I spent 8 months in the hospital with my little one and would not wish it on my worst enemy. But I have to say that incredibly I went back to Dr. Pfeffer in April (yes I am crazy) due to the fact that I really wanted my son to have a sibling and with my age I knew my options were severely limited. Dr. Pfeffer was wonderful and went way far above and beyond what he needed to do for me. I probably would be pregnant by now except for the fact that my husband wants nothing to do with it. So I have nothing but high, high praise for Dr. Pfeffer. I don't know if he and I just happen to have a special relationship or if he is this caring with all of his patients. I will admit the first time I met him I thought he was arrogant and very opinionated but once I got past that I came to love him. I hope all works out well for the both of you.

My Mood: Points: 4,802.57 Bank: 105,381.10 Total Points: 110,183.67 | Lina - How's the 2ww treating you? Hope it's going well! I took 5mg when I did femara, but it did nothing for me. I had a thin lining, some medium-sized follies, and an lh surge on my own. It just didn't work for me. I had already done 4 clomid cycles, so my next step was the injections, which do work, but it's been interesting getting the dosing right. First cycle it was too aggressive so I hyperstimmed, and now this one we started off with a really low dose and have gradually bumped it up. I hope to trigger tomorrow. West Chester is very far - I'm surprised they would have you go there! I've only been to Bryn Mawr and Paoli. Fingers crossed for your bfp!
Andrea - I am truly sorry for your loss. Was your daughter's condition genetic, is that why your dh isn't into trying again? Would you and your dh consider adoption? I was adopted myself, and would definitely do it if it weren't so cost-prohibitive. Maybe someday we will, but for now we're going to try our hardest to conceive ourselves. I do think that Dr. Pfeffer is more caring. I think I'll be seeing him tomorrow (I say "I think" b/c I was expecting Dr. Orris yesterday, but had Dr. Glassner instead - their schedules must change a lot). I'm just going to hope for the best that this cycle ends well.
Ok, back to work! Talk to you ladies later!

My Mood: Points: 17,541.91 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 17,541.91 | I also go to MLF. I have been going there since November of 2007. I started off seeing Dr. Glassner, but have seen all of the Dr's in the practice. IMO, Dr. Glassner is aggressive, and easy to get along with, but a bit of a snob. Dr. Pfeffer(I've only seen him once) was so nice and kind but maybe not quite aggressive enough. Dr. Orris rubbed me the wrong way. I've seen him a handful of times and we just don't click. I usually make my appts. based on convienience rather than what Dr. will be there. I only go to the Paoli office unless I have an appt on a weekend then I go to BM.
Daisy was it you that mentioned Reproductive Science Institute? My SIL went there for many years and had nothing but good things to say about the Dr's. It's worth a try if you are fed up with MLF. I ended up choosing MLF because I had about 5 + recommendations for it as opposed to the one for the RSI.
Maybe I'll see you at the office!!

Momof2boyz (Lisa) - Hi! Yes, I'm getting a little frustrated with MLF b/c of the difficulty getting early appts. In the beginning, it seemed I could always get 7:30 or 8:00 appts, and I was actually able to get into work on time. Lately, it seems like they have too many patients or something. And just when I've moved onto injections, and need like 6 appts per cycle - LOL! It's just starting to make me look bad at work... Another lady I know on the boards highly recommended RSI. She got pg with her son on her second try with injections. If this cycle doesn't end with a bfp, I'm seriously thinking of checking out RSI. I live so close, it would be really convenient for me, as long as they can accommodate early appts. I'm glad to hear your SIL had a good experience there!

My Mood: Points: 42,844.14 Bank: 2,912,798.24 Total Points: 2,955,642.38 | Momof2boyz ~ I’m sorry that Dr. Orris rubbed you the wrong way. What was it about him? I know he moves fast. On my first visit which was CD12 I had no follies and he immediately gave me a second round of clomid 200mgs ..I mean I am thankful I did get a BFP that sadly ended in m/c….this round same thing happened…first round of meds did nothing than I was given femara….I guess b/c he actually can get me to O…I feel like I owe the world to him…I have never seen any of the other doctors though. Daisy ~ Speaking of too many patients…when I went in on CD24 OMG he had 70 patients that day…see w/ IF it’s all based on a cycle…you can’t say no I won’t see you on that day b/c I have such and such amount of patients…these visits being based on a cycle make it difficult for the doctor and patient…. what if we all O at the same time or get AF at the same time…or even better BFP…poor doctors are run down. Where is RSI?? AFM, still waiting for a sign that this is a BFP cycle. Of course I still have a week to go before I test. Could we FFWD into next week already??

My Mood: Points: 17,541.91 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 17,541.91 | RSI is in Chesterbrook Business Center which is right off of the Chesterbrook exit of RT. 202. It's actually fairly close to the Paoli office of MLF.
Linna- You know how you just don't click very well with some people. that is how it was with Dr. Orris. I am a people person and like to joke around with this TTC drama and he just seemed to have such a "flat" personality with me.
DaisySue- Hope you get your BFP this cycle so you don't even have to worry about switching! I would be frusturated too if I couldn't get the appts. I needed. I don't work so I don't have that stress, but I have to work around babysitting and sometimes they seem frusurated when I say I can't come at a certain time. I have stood my ground on a number of occasions and they have given me the appt. I said worked for me.
Off to the beach. I will talk to you all after the weekend. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!
