Someone I met online (a nice gal my age, who happens to be deaf and a very amazing person) was nice enough to go with me to the cemetery to visit my sons, and take pictures. She took 15 of the boys, and the others are from the rest of the cemeteries there (3 total cemeteries, all linked together). Each cemetery had sections for the young ones. Very hard to see those. The most religious (these were all Jewish cemeteries) had a few gravestones with a little lamb ontop of them. Those were so precious. If I ever get a digital camera (one that works, but I will not have money for one anytime soon or ever) I will go back on my own (or maybe with one of you?) and take more pictures, of the special young ones.
Anyway, I thought I'd share the pictures. I know it's sad looking, very plain and just dirt. I guess they're still so fresh, eventually they'll have green grass growing over them, and have their own headstones.
The first 15 pictures are Daniel and Ari's, the others are from other areas. Cemetery Photos

Thank you for telling us about the trip and for posting these pictures here. How brave you are to do this. And the online friend sounds WONDERFUL. You are lucky to have her in your life!
The pictures are very moving; I have tears in my eyes while looking at them (they are open in another browser on my PC right now). I'm glad you posted them here. I noticed that in the last pictures, a lot of the headstones have slabs that cover the ground as well. Is that a Jewish tradition?
We had our little one cremated. We haven't decided yet what we're going to do with the ashes. For now, they sit in our cupboard. I almost want to keep them and not scatter them so that he's always with us in our house.

Renee, I am moved by these pictures. I'm so glad you met someone who could go with you to the cemetary. It looks like a very peaceful place.

Their stones were ordered when they were buried, I believe. I didn't order them/pay for them, my mom did, so I'm not sure. But they will be put up at their one year marks.
About the slabs over the plots, I never knew that was a Jewish thing, as I've really only been in Jewish cemeteries. I suppose, maybe it is?
And the area where the boys are is very peaceful, right next to the woods. I like these cemeteries because unlike most, they are all just surrounded by the woods. Seems more peaceful and calm like that.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how devastated and heartbroken you are. I'm glad you got to visit your little angels and it's touching to see they are together side by side. I know you will always think of your angels and I pray your broken heart heals.
Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you found a friend with a good heart who would go with you. With our site at the cemetery, I planted a handfull of grass seed that I happened to have already (not expensive if you don't). I don't think anyone ever would have planted any if I hadn't.

Oh, and I don't think the slabs are necessarily a Jewish thing, just some families like them. They're fancier than my style (and pretty expensive), and they are one more thing to get broken when the bulldozer comes through to dig a new grave. I've seen several broken ones, unfortunately.
About the slabs over the plots, I never knew that was a Jewish thing, as I've really only been in Jewish cemeteries. I suppose, maybe it is?
I am going to ask my friend Katie about this - her dad is Catholic, mom is Jewish, so she'll be able to ask them and get me an answer. Now "scientific and curious me" wants an answer.
Thanks for sharing the pictures. It does look like such a peaceful spot where they boys are. A nice quite spot where you and just be with them whenever you want.
I have tears in my eyes just seeing it. It just isn't fair that my cyster has to go through this. We're right there with you. I wish I could give you a big old hug in person.
If they allow it I would put some grass seeds down and maybe a nice flowering plant. One for each of the boys.
I'm glad you found a friend to go with you. The cemetary is lovely and I like the woods, too. I love cemetaries that have actual tombstones. All the ones around here have the flat markers. I've seen those slabs in a lot a cemetaries.
The pictures and markers made me cry...........
Thank you for sharing Renee. I'm very glad you met a wonderful friend online!!! I wish I lived closer to you! I wouild do what Sheri suggested. Bring a bit of grass seed and sprinkle it. It does look like a peaceful resting place for your dear boys.
