I'm wondering if the pill is as effective for birth control when you have pcos? Due to the hormonal differences in our systems I'm curious as to how much protection it really offers. Personally, when I'm not on the pill I do not have periods, however I don,t want to take that to mean I don't ovulate. I know the pill can be less effective if you are over average weight, so I've switched to a higher dose one, Seasonale. I take it by the book and don't miss doses. Does anyone have any input on whether there is any difference in effectiveness as BC as compared to the normal population? My endocrinologist believes I would need treatment if I ever wanted to conceive (which I do not), but again I'm not counting on THAT as protection either! Thanks!

Thanks star! Yeah, I'm assuming it will work just as well and 'normal' women, however I was just wondering, since it actually makes my hormone levels more normal, if it would have the same effect....strange too how carrying extra weight makes it less likely to concieve, but it also can make the pill less effective....hmmm. LOL. Go figure....
